    Where will Garnett land?

For those who care about the NBA, where do you think Garnett will be traded to? (If he gets traded) I just saw on ESPN today where the Lakers have jumped into the fray (after the Celtics and Suns were the initial contenders for KG). The T'Wolves would be smart to trade him this year, because he can opt out after next season and they'd get zilch for him should he jump ship.

Personally, I'd like to see him go to Phoenix where he and Nash could win a title together (and the Wolves could re-build around A. Stoudemire)

Boston. They need him worse than anybody.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

I would like to see KG go to the Lakers as part of the at least three way deal being discussed (i.e., involving the Pacers). The Pacers and T-wolves need to rebuild. Also, if Kobe cannot win with KG, then both we and he will truly see the value of Shaq to Kobe as well as what his selfishness cost the Lake show (several championships). I would like to see KG win a championship as he has always been a class act and a solid ambassador for the NBA.

Hopefully he ends up somewhere because the Wolves are going nowhere. I personally would like to see him go to LA, so Kobe could show what he and KG could do.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

Boston would be completely insane to trade everything for a chance to get to the NBA finals and LOSE to whichever Western power ends up there next year. Al Jefferson is a stud on the rise, they have young talent around Pierce who has still has a handful of better-than-most years. I agree with the KG-to-LA article saying Boston should go after someone like J O'Neal with the 5 pick... that would be a scary lineup.
I think KG goes to Chicago or LA still. Chicago has enough depth at a couple positions plus the 9 to give up to make it worth it to Minn to build around a new core.
    We'll see though...

It's different this year than others though, IMO, brian. Minn is being active in seeking deals, and "paying back" KG for all of the years he just kept playing hard. I think he's gone by the trade deadline in February (obviously a long ways off)

I just hope the lakers don't get KG while keeping kobe, there would have to be several deals with the devil for that to go down, and it'd be a ***** having to not like him as he's always been one of my favs.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

Being a Minnesotite, I've been a huge Garnett fan over the past decade plus. I would be hugely upset if he lands in LA because of my opinion of Kobe and that whole organization in general. I would like to see him on a Chicago or Phoenix, because I would really like to see him get a ring.

One little scenario that no one talks about, which in my mind may make some sense, is the Altanta Hawks. I could see a trade this year between the Tpups and the Hawks. Maybe a Marvin Williams and the 3rd draft pick for Garnett. This would be good for the Hawks, with Joe Johnson, Garnett, and Josh Smith. It would also be good for the Wolves, with the 21 year old Marvin Williams (who I think will be very good), plus the 3rd pick and the 7th pick of this year's draft. Pretty good rebuilding strategy I'd say.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

I'm hoping the Bulls get into the mix and bring him home to Chicago. They have a lotto pick and lots of young talent to offer up and while PJ Brown's contract is expired I'm sure they can work out a sign and trade where Brown gets paid a 1 year deal to make up the money difference. Brown is not going to get much as a free agent so if you pay him more than he deserves I'm sure he'll agree to go about anywhere.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

I really think this is the time a deal actually happens for KG. I also think this will be McHale's swansong, and the move will be followed by McHale's stepping down and Freddy's stepping up.

i wonder about the salary implications of a trade like this. KG makes serious money and Williams is still under the rookie salary cap. They'd have to throw another hefty contract into the mix or get another team involved to make it work...

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

Not Phoenix...bad deal for them, they'd have to give up Amare along with a Boris Diaw or someone like that...Amare is younger and has more potential, but all Garnett has is that he is the better overall player...FOR NOW. If the Suns want to be winners for years to come, they should stick with Amare.

Me personal belief: LA. They are a team who is being called out by it's star player for not doing what it takes to be a winner. If they wanna keep Kobe long-term, they should get him another stud big man. And Garnett can be that guy.

    Re: Where will Garnett land?

As a Lakers fan it would be amazing if KG landed in LA the last three yrs have been miserable and this would vault LA into one of the top 4 teams in the west
