    Anybody ever see "The Cove"?

There's a piece on it on Animal Planet. It's a documentary on the dolphin slaughters in Japan. Absolutely horrifying. I watched it a while back and it literally gave me nightmares and kept me up some nights.

I may be talking to the wrong crowd, as I know a lot of people in Iowa are hunters (not saying that hunting deer is slaughtering, but I realize how I feel about the issue is different than a lot of people), but if you have any interest in it, it's a very devastating film.

I know it's free to watch as well at various places online. I haven't seen it yet, but became aware of it watching blood dolphins on animal planet

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

It's just amazing (in a bad way) to see these incredibly intelligent animals corraled and slaughtered recklessly. It's one of those films that I think a lot of people may want to watch, but don't want to due to it's content.

Yeah. I'd say it's haunting and has stayed with me. It's great to see the resolve and heart of the group. Interesting to see the Japanese politics behind it as well including buying Carribean nations to sit on the Board to essentially vote their "ethical" practices. I imagine there is a large portion of young Japanese who turn a blind eye to the practices of the older fishing practices.

A hunter who thinks this is fine is a moron.

Deer hunters in Iowa don't corral hundreds of deer into a corner, sell the 10-20 prettiest ones alive for 200k each, then brutally slaughter the other hundreds of deer.

Oh then they would have to sell the deer meet to school lunches and grocery stores without really telling people what it is. Oh and the deer meat would have to be laced with insanely high levels of mercury that basically turns people to vegetables.

There are those who have knee jerk reactions against animal rights activists and environmentalists. Sometimes they have a some rational points. This is one case where it's just a completely senseless act being committed.

I have seen it and I will never again go to a dolphin exhibit or swim with the dolphins. All have a new found hatred for japanese fisherman.

exactly there is a difference between population control and slaughtering.
