    Quantum computers within five years

Most people figured true quantum computers would be about 25-50 years away. Looks like we may see these far earlier than anyone thought. For the uninitiated, a quantum computer does computing operations using the laws of quantum mechanics, and would make the most powerful supercomputer today look like the Atanasoff-Berry Computer by comparison.
