    Re: Golf ideas in Davenport?

If you want to have absolutely no problems getting into a decent 18-hole course, Hidden Hills (north of I-80 in Bettendorf, take the Middle Road exit).

If you want a very nice course, Palmer Hills (Middle Road and Devil's Glen in Bettendorf). Make sure you call in for a reservation.

If you want a public/city course, Duck Creek (Locust & Elmore in east Davenport) and Emeis (Locust and Emeis in west Davenport)

A couple of 9-hole options are Red Hawk (Northwest Blvd and Pine St in Davenport) and Hidden Hills (Eldridge)

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

i would prefer to play somewhere nice, trying to get onto Davenport C.C. or thought about making the drive over to the TPC. But not super familiar with the area, but i thought they had a few nice ones over there. I think I played Palmer last year.

Drive a little extra and hit up Olathea just outside of Princeton.

Glynn's Creek in Park View (near Scott Co Park) is supposed to be extremely nice. Other than that, I'm not too familiar with the courses on the Illinois side.

Play the John Deere course in Silvis,Illinois that is just across the river.

I played 2 rounds at this course. Not sure of the cost, but for the average golfer (which you are) it isn't bad. The landing areas are larger than alot of courses as long as you play the hole and not try and cut to many angles. The greens are a little tricky.

TPC Deere Run is probably the best course in the area. On the Iowa side, Glynns Creek at Parkview is a close second. Don't, and I repeat, don't go to Hidden Hills or Oleatha. Red Hawk is a first tee course set up for beginners and other newbies. Other suggestions that must be ignored are Duck Creek (horrible) and Emeis (not quite as bad as duck creek). Palmer Hills is decent also. On the Illinois side, Byron Hills is very nice, as is Highland Springs.

I've always heard Crow Creek isn't all that bad.

Second Glynn's Creek. It's affordable, has GPS in the carts and is just a nice course. I used to play there all the time.

As the Asst Supt there, its Crow Valley. I would recommend Emeis in Davenport, Glynns Creek in Long Grove, Palmer Hills in Bettendorf or Highland Springs in Rock Island. There is also TPC Deere Run in SIlvis.

    Re: Golf ideas in Davenport?

While Palmer is nice it is the busiest course in the area. If you don't mind a few extra dollars go to TPC. If you do go out to TPC take some absorbine jr.
