Does this article give us any hope on the Royce White front?

Morgan eligible, ready to play right away for Baylor - NCAA Division I Mens Basketball - CBSSports.com

I'll be interested in disecting the two stories and see how the NCAA differs on it's outcome.

Can we find female in Ames that wants the job? Maybe a student that wants some extra credit?

Let's say that Royce can play this year. Do you think ISU could at least be in the Top 6 in the conference with this squad? I would like to think so.

It all comes down to whether or not Freddy can coach

This is still a little far-fetched, IMO. It's still just Diante, Royce, and a bunch of no-names. And even though I like Diante as a player more than just about everyone on this board, that's not a formula for a top-half finish in a good league. Royce hasn't played a minute of college basketball yet, and the typical 20-30 ranked recruit won't have a huge impact in his first year of college ball. You're going to need 9 wins to finish in the top half, and I just can't see where all those are coming from this year.

Well, possibly going 7-9, 6-10 with Royce in there. And that would be great for FH's first year. Really, should beat CU and NU twice...beat OU and Tech at home....and another W in there somewhere.... we could be in the 6-8 area.

Have you seen Royce yet? This kid is incredible. He would be solid for ANYBODY. Another big body for the team this year....and yes, I think we should beat the mentioned teams above in conference. I am not saying that we will be dancing. But there would be a nice refreshing feel to the Cyclones with a new coach, scheme, and a BIG TIME player on the roster. Mixed with a couple seniors (DG, Vanderbeken)-Anderson and solid young role players in Ejim, McKnight, etc... I like our chances to beat the above mentioned teams.

Morgan transferred from UCLA because he didn't have any other choice, he may have chose Baylor because of his ill grandmother, but he didn't leave UCLA because of that, so that should have had no bearing on being eligible right away. With Morgan and Eric Moreland both being granted waivers, I would have a hard time understanding denying White and to be honest why not Chris Allen, he was booted from MSU like Morgan was from UCLA.

As I have said before, no rhyme or reason to some of these NCAA decisions, its just how they "feel" at the time.

actually, the ncaa has been very consistent. a seriously ill relative is always good for a waiver. whether you, i or the ncaa thinks the transfer was truly made in order to be closer to the relative or not makes no difference.

they don't try to guess if the player is lying about motives, it's always a guaranteed waiver. a sick relative isn't the only reason the ncaa can decide to grant a waiver, but it's the only sure bet.

What "hope"? I hope that he sits out a year, gets his life and studies together, and joins a loaded 2011 team before going off to the NBA. Is that the "hope" that you are referring to?

Someone needs to find Royce a sick family member in Iowa.

Must be nice to get kicked off your team and transfer without sitting out.

I'm sure he's thrilled that the woman who raised him is dying.
