    Realistic win/loss record

    What is your realistic win/loss record for the season now that our kool-aid has been whizzed in?

    I am thinking 5-7.

    In other words, not much has changed? Go figure...

    I'm still going with 6-6, but 5-7 may be in the cards.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    I said six wins at the beginning of the season.

    K-State, KU, Colorado, UNI are winnable games. That puts ISU at five wins. I am thinking ISU upsets a team again this year.

    I am hoping for it to be either Missouri or Nebraska. Nothing I would like better than beat the Tigers and/or the Huskers.

    I think an upset over Utah would make a few people take notice as well.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    I still think 6 or 7 wins are possible, then maybe a bowl game as well. We got beat by a really good team that played a great game in their stadium. Don't give up all hope for the season.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    If we continue to play like we did Saturday... 2-10.

    I think we improve vastly this week and I am still predicting 5 or 6 regular season wins.

    You say that K-State, KU, Colorado and UNI are winnable. Which they are, but you can't automatically assume that we are going to win all 4.

    K-State is favored this weekend. I don't know the exact odds, but with a -4.5 spread, I would say that KSU is roughly 55% to win. I'm not a stat head, but if you do that same thing for the remainder of our games, then it really starts to look bleak.

    @KSU +4.5 (ISU predicted point spread) / 45% (for ISU to Win)
    UNI -14.5 ish / 80%
    Texas Tech +7 / 30%
    Utah +9 / 25%
    @OK +20 / 5%
    @TX +17 / 10%
    KS -4.5 / 55%
    Neb +14 / 15%
    @CU +4.5 / 45%
    Mizz +7 / 30%

    I could be way off on the spreads, and the percentages, but my point is, when you look at it that way, I think we will only be favored in 2 more games and even that doesn't guarantee a win. I am saying 3-9 is a "likely" record prediction, but I tend to think we will finish 4-8.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    Really depends how we stack up against the other teams ol and dl lines. If they are
    bigger and quicker we are in troulble as SAT. has shown.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    At 1-1 already...

    W: KSU, UNI, KU, CU
    L: Utah, OU, UT, NU

    Makes you 5-5 with up for grab games being TT and Mizzu.

    TT's wins over SMU and NM mean nothing as those are terrible teams. Mizzu looks like it could go either way.

    7-5 to 5-7?

    And it doesn't mean ISU will lose all four games, either.

    I am predicting wins, like the title of the thread states. I "realisticly" believe ISU can win all four of those games.

    I started 12-0 and now I am 1-11. All hope is lost.

    Actually I think we are going to go 7-5.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    Talk to me after Saturday. I knew we were going to lose to Iowa and be 1-1 right now so nothing has changed for me yet. I've got KSU as a victory so if we lose, I may want to start rethinking my 6-6 prediction.

    Re: Realistic win/loss record

    We need much more enthusiasm to win some of these games.

    It was not bad to see the end score at 35-7, but it felt like 63-3. We were blown away bigtime in the first half and they coasted the second half. EIU and the real EIU played better than we did the week before. Still not sure what happened other than we froze up at the wheel and played too cautious of a gameplan when we had to take more chances.

    If you go by Sagarin, you may be the underdog in the next ten games.
