Might not even be an NFL next year with the hold out.

    Re: NFL attendance

it's actually becoming kind of a problem. something like 22 of 32 teams are in danger of having games blacked out this year. the nfl has seen a decline in attendance in each of the last few years.

    Re: NFL attendance

I was at the opener for the giants and there was a whole bunch of empty seats in the second deck. What I found out later was that it was club seating so it didn't effect blackout rules. Still embarassing tho for a home opener in a brand new stadium

Obviously it's a combination of very high prices for everything associated with going to a game (tickets, parking, concessions, etc) as well as the fact that most people are cutting back on spending because of the economy.

I can't say I'm surprised at all. I'm a big sports fan, and earn a decent living, but taking a family of four to an NFL game costs way too much, IMO.

    Re: NFL attendance

id much rather spend about $250 for nfl sunday ticket than spend at least $250 on tickets + parking + gas + hotel +concessions. it makes a lot more sense to just buy sunday ticket and watch your team at home

Another thing with club seats in different stadiums is that they have bars/restaurants inside the stadium accessible by the club section, so a lot of people just hang out inside and don't actually sit in their seats much. Even in nice weather, people are lounging around inside which is why you often see lots of empty seats in club sections.
