With the VT debacle yesterday BSU lost a lot of luster.

I still expect UT to beat OU.

UT may beat OU, but they will not be a player in the nat'l champ. talk this year IMO. Too many holes. They will still likely win 9-10 games though.

BSU is out IMO and I don't think TCU can get there with schedule strength.

oregon state is still on boise's schedule, and even though they arent a great team, they are still close to being ranked and if BSU takes care of them they should have a legit shot at the NC game

The way the teams are playing now, I would take Alabama and OU in the NC game. Both are looking very impressive.

I think as long as Boise goes undefeated, they will be on that list. Although I don't like it

Which is really sad, because I think TCU will end up having a stronger schedule than BSU when all is said and done this year. They both play Oregon State and I believe a MWC schedule with BYU and Utah will end up being better than the WAC plus V-Tech.

Really, everything about Boise State's situation must just suck for them right now. They've done the two things the experts said they needed to do this year to legitimize their program, and they have both completely blown up in their face.

The complete meltdown of the ACC has to have them in tears for two reasons: the obvious punch in the nuts to their championship aspirations, but also the what-ifs it conjures up with regards to the MWC. With two of the 6 BCS conferences looking so inferior to what that conference would have been if it had held together, I got to think they would have been granted an AQ.

The MWC may still get there. Yes, it sucks for them losing Utah, as Boise St was going to be a great addition to the confrence's resume, but at least they are still an equitable replacement for Utah. It also does stink to lose BYU, but they had yet to crack the BCS, so they weren't adding to the resume anyway, and both Fresno St and Nevada are very good replacements for BYU.

    Iowa @ Michigan = LOSS

OSU @ Iowa = Victory for the Bucks

...Iowa will not be in it.

    I'd tweak it slightly:
    Alabama
    Iowa or tOSU
    OU or Texas
    Oregon
an undefeated TCU if Utah and Air Force continue to win and are solid top 25 teams

BSU is out with VTech now likely being a less impressive win and a weak WAC schedule

TCU can still get in if the MWC is as strong as it has been in recent years and there are no other unbeatens. Air Force has looked very good so far. Both Air Force and Utah need to be top 25 teams on TCU's conference schedule since it seems that BYU may be a bit down.

I think it's far more likely we see TCU or Utah in the title game than any ACC or Big East team, only took two weeks for those two conferences to look bad this year.

I don't see OU winning out.

As of right now, I think its clear that OSU and Alabama are the most likely 2. If (big if) somehow Iowa can win @ Arizona and @Michigan, I think we could very well see Iowa and OSU playing each other for a spot in the NC game. Crazy as it may sound, it's very possible. That would be the biggest game in Iowa football history.

I could see Oregon running the table, and then getting drilled when they have to finally play a good defense like OSU, Iowa, Alabama or TCU.

I'm more worried about Oregon being a fraud than any other team that could potentially get in. Other than USC's great years, the Pac Ten has shown it can score on itself but not on good defenses from other leagues.

Oregon is REALLY fun to watch, just not sure I'd put money on them getting out of the first round if we ever had a real 16 or 8 team playoff.

They might get there, but it will be lot harder and longer road. Fresno St. and Nevada do not give you two BCS bowl wins in recent years and a former national champion. They are solid teams, but they are not the consistently top 25 or receiving votes programs that BYU and Utah are.

Re: BCS Championship will be between 2 of the followng 5 teams

Iowa's got a long road ahead, facing possible resurgent Michigan, always competitive Michigan State, evil twin Wisconsin, always trick Northwestern and Big Ten elite Ohio State in conference play. We also have the trip out West this coming weekend.

I'd be happy with another BCS trip, so I'll focus on that, rather than worrying myself about the position in the polls and possible National title dreams.
