    Yikes.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Saw that this morning as well. Pretty typical of what we've seen in the past after 1st games against lesser opponents.

    Re: Northern Illinois

Well, NIU rushed for 364 yards. ND's TD's came from an interception return and a 85 yard pass. From the stats, it appears that no one wanted to play defense, but NIU controlled the ball for the most part and gave up some big plays.

I don't think it's as bad as the score would indicate though?

NIU had over 500 yds of offense and were up 16-0 with under a minute left in the 1st half.

They did bench the QB that started against us though.

    Re: Northern Illinois

Not sure why that isnt encouraging. ISU played NIU last week. They won that game and it is over with. Not sure why you need to reference it. It would be like posting links to show the score of he Kansas NDSU game and then the UNI NDSU game. Well, that means UNI could beat Kansas, who beat GT who played Iowa in the Orange Bowl. Last year UNI lost to Iowa by 1, this year we got beat by Iowa by 28. UNI should beat us by 27 then right?

    Time to move on.

Time to move on. I expect better reporting from you CW. Glad this is a free site.
What are you talking about? Better reporting? I posted the score of a team that Iowa State beat in week one? You don't have to come to our site. I am fair. I'm not going to shove Kool-aid down your throat here though. If that's what you want, then don't come here. I'm always going to be fair. What is wrong with that?

Aren't you the one who ripped me for picking Iowa to win on Friday?

What do you want me to say? "Iowa State is going to beat the Hawks by 30?"

That wasn't realistic. I told you what I thought. Of course I am going to lean Iowa State. I have a degree from here. My wife has two degrees from here. I live in Ames and I've dedicated my entire professional career towards promoting Iowa State athletics.

But that's not enough for CyByAssociation. My "reporting" of a final score from Saturday is irresponsible.

I'm usually pretty level-headed but dumb posts like that are unfair.

Snap. Good post. I don't come here for Kool-Aid. I want fair reporting and fair analysis. Some bias is nice, but isn't necessary.

Now thats not what I'm saying at all. What I am saying is that here is no point in posting NIU's week 2 score. We have played them already and won. Not only did we win, but we played a good game. I've never been a fan of using the measuring stick against other teams. That is why I used the UNI example. The true measuring stick is measuring ISU's progress from week to week.

Yes, you posted the score of an FBS team that ISU played in week one. That has no impact on how ISU will perform in the future. Throw it in the General College forum with the rest of the college football threads. We are now in week 3 of the schedule. I'm sure the team got a good *** chewing today and they are now focused on K-State. That is where my focus is.

I didnt rip you for picking Iowa. In all honesty, I just got a little tired of hearing about how this one was pretty much a for sure loss. I can respect you for being a realist and picking Iowa. But from all I was hearing (not just from you), was reasons why ISU will lose. Give me reasons why they could win, give me a bit of hope, an optimistic outlook. I dont expect you to pick ISU in every game, that would be absurd.

I apologize for being rude and a bit of an *******. My comments were not thought out and were made in frustration of the lack of any sense of unity among all Cyclone fans. I havent been a Cyclone supporter for long, but in my short time here I have noticed that Cyclone fans get down way too easy. I appreciate all that you do for CF and you truly have made incredibly positive contributions to this site since joining and I thank you for that. I didnt mean to belittle you as a reporter or as a professional. I'm sure I have little to no understanding of really how much time you put into your job. Again, I apologize.

Like I said, I havent been a Cyclone supporter for long, but since I have been, I have put my ultimate confidence in not only the team as individuals, but also as a unit, and the staff as well. It frustrates me that others cannot share a little bit of confidence.

Seriously? I think CW made a very valid point. Maybe we drank a little too much koolaid after the NIU victory. Maybe it did not mean as much as initially thought.

Besides it is a message board, discussion is kinda the point.

    Re: Northern Illinois

If we're going to point out NIU's margin in its week 2 game, i think its only fair to mention that KSU's week 1 opponent, UCLA, that they beat by 9, got blasted last night, 35-0 by Stanford.

Some of you need to step back from the ledge. We lost to a top 10, maybe top 5 team. They played a great game, and even then, we had some opportunities to score and make this closer (dont get me wrong, we were never winning this game), that we screwed up with penalties and interceptions at the worst possible time. Arnaud and Iowa apparently do not do well together. We shook off a loss like this last year, and i think we can do that again.
