    Vacation spots - Jamaica

MrsBrianHos and I are looking for vacation destinations. Probably Jamaica, most likely negril. Anyone ever been to the area that can offer some good places to stay? We went there a few years back and had a great time, and are looking to go back. We want to try a different resort than the first time we went. The only requirements are it must be all inclusive, on the beach, and not allow kids.

    Ideas?

I think we cleared that issue up in a previous thread today.

Michael Scott took Jan to Sandles Jamaica from that episode of "The Office." He kept bragging how it was inclusive and all that.

He seemed to have a good time.

    Re: Vacation spots - Jamaica

Mrs DaddyMac and I just got back from Mexico in April for my brother's wedding in Puerto Vallarta. Wouldn't recommend that.

However, we spent a few days on the gulf side in Playa Del Carmen, about 30 minutes south of Cancun and directly across from Cozumel. Absolutely loved it.

Where we stayed was a little pricey, wasn't all inclusive, had a small private beach (very small hotel 30-40 rooms) and didn't allow kids under 16. There were a number of all inclusives nearby.

The nice thing about Playa was it isn't quite as touristy as places like Cozumel or Cancun, but decent sized to have ample stuff to do. Of course, we spent most of the time doing nothing on the beach.

Sorry, can't help you with Jamaica.

    "I went to the place

"I'd stay and be a tourist,
but I can't stand the gunplay."

From a song about a bad Jamaica vacation.

Hands-down the best place in Jamaica is the Ritz-Carlton Montego Bay. They have an all inclusive package & depending on when you go is pretty reasonable. They don't restrict kids, but with all the luxury and top-shelf service suurounding you, you don't even notice them.

I have to agree with Raymeus....The Ritz in Montego is awsome. Their golf course, the White Witch is a hell of a golf course too (bring your credit card though). 16 of the holes have an ocean view, if i remember right (it has been a few years).

Margartiaville was a blast and their choice of smoke is worth the trip

    Actually, I'd recommend Sandals.

There are also some...rather interesting resorts you can stay in Jamaica.

We stayed at one of the rather "interesting" resorts last time. It was fun, a bit odd, but fun!

If you are interested in a trip to Cancun, let me know. I am a member of Palace Resorts and you can go on an all inclusive package for two (airfare included) for as low as $2588. Don't worry no sales pitch, I just get credit towards golf and the wife gets spa credit for referrals. We have a group of 8 going in January.

If you're going to go to Jamaica then I'd recommend going to Yale and Bagley as well.
