if P Bates had stayed would he be starting now? Knowing AA is the best we have right now does that mean we need to look for a JC QB next year

NO. He doesn't start at Ohio.

In their 2 games he has played in one. 1-5 passing for 4 yards. 6 rushing attempts for 48 yards. Mind you those came against the power house program of Wofford. The game he didn't play in was an Ohio loss to Toledo.

Re: Williams Blog: What went wrong?

We were dominated physically in the line. They got huge push from their own O-Line, and we had almost zero pass rush--Stanzi had forever to throw. On the other side, they can consistently get pressure with just rushing the four linemen...a huge luxery, allowing them to have everyone else in coverage.

Hard to hide the fact that Austin simply had a terrible day too. It was hard to remember that he is ISU alltime % completion leader as bad as some of those throws looked yesterday.

It was an ugly game, but next week is another week, and the score starts at zero's. I had expected 1-1 at this point in the season, but didn't expect our Clones to be manhandled quite so lopsidedly yesterday. Still, we are where most of us truly expected we will be. We will have more ugly losses. Going on the road against top ten foes will make you look bad at times. One of the good things about OU and Texas on the road is that means most of the games we need to win are at least on our home field.

what went wrong is the fact that geoffrey has been hoarding money from the already small AD funds. if he would leave the school and athletics separate we would have had much better teams in the past and a much better stadium

Re: Williams Blog: What went wrong?

I agree that the offense was pressing from the start, but anyone that thought that ISU was going to hang 30 on Iowa from the start is just plain nuts. None the less, everything in a game starts with execution of plays. ISU had a good chance to execute and make a first down on the first possession and didn't. The same thing happened on the second series. Every time that you fail to execute you fuel the fire. There were way too many dropped passes and errantly thrown passes yesterday. If AA and the WRs had a perfect game ISU would have still lost, but at least it might have been more interesting.

Re: Williams Blog: What went wrong?

This was a perfect storm of sorts. I'm still not sure if Iowa just played the best that they could or we played the worst we could or if it was just a mix of both. Time will tell.
I was of course wondering why Tiller didn't touch the field. After thinking some more, my fear is that he is so far behind Arnaud in running the O that Rhoads didn't want to lose him to confidence issues against that team. If this is the case, we are in trouble down the road when Arnaud graduates. That would tell me that we will take a drop-off at QB play next year. Not good... I hope that we just wanted AA to get a rhythm so they stuck with him.

The grass always looks greener, on the other side of the fence, but the dog over there might be meaner, on the other side of the fence… Stay in your own yard, play in your own yard!

What is the scoop with Jeremiah George. He was listed as number 2 on depth chart but didn't see the field except perhaps special teams. Chris do you know why there is no mention of him?

Not sure. That is one of the questions that I want to ask at tomorrow's press conference.
