    Osemele

There was a lot of talk leading up to today about the Clayborn vs. Osemele battle from last season. Unfortunately for us, Clayborn pwned Kelechi today. He was disrupting things in our backfield all day long. I thought he could have been nailed for holding more than just the one time he was penalized.

It's safe to say that not many plays from today's game will make the Kelechi Osemele highlight tape.

I agree 100%, Clayborn absolutly dominated him. Granted I think Clayborn is a legit top 5 pick and potential Pro Bowler. But I though KO being a legit future 3rd rounder could slow him down at least. All the talk about Arnaud's rough day (which it was), its tough to throw when you got 7 guys dropping back on 3rd and long and you still have a 290 lb defensive end on your back as you release the ball.

Actually not really. AC avoided KO quite a damn bit by (forgot the name of the move.) rushing the guards and not KO.

AC worked Alex more then he worked KO.

NHL teams need to be added to the favorite teams section.

Iowa did run a lot of stunts/twists but don't fool yourself--this is not a game KO is going to enjoy watching on film.

EVERYONE worked Alex today. Klug made him his personal you-know-what.

I noticed this also. Alvarez seemed to be blocking Clayborn more often than KO was.

Those were the words I was looking for...thanks.

I don't doubt he will enjoy watching it, however he and the rest of the line did more then enough to move the O. Play calling and the caller need to be more in question.

Iowa learned the hard way last year to not let ISU's "big guys" lock on ... because when they do, size really can matter.

I'm not saying the play calling wasn't stupid, but the offensive line was PITIFUL today right next to the defensive line. 4 rushers should NEVER get pressure on the QB, and Austen had people in his face the entire game. 4 down lineman shouldn't completely clog the LOS either, and we didn't do squat running the ball. The offensive line didn't do anything to help the cause, and this doesn't even include the stupid penalties.

The offensive line was the worst position group we had today. Period.

You're a hawk. Why would you say "us" and "our."

    That's what she said.

    Re: Osemele

That was the best D-line ISU will face all season. In fact, with North Carolina's studs ruled ineligible, Iowa probably has the best D-line in the country.

AA looked terrible, but that probably had more to do with no time to step and throw, than his lack of ability to check down to his other options. Quick outs were about all he had time to throw.

Now if K-State controls the line as Iowa did, there is trouble in the motherland.

    Re: Osemele

Thought a few times the O line would put a few good plays together and then collapse again but overall both lines were dominated when it really mattered. That cannot be argued.

I disagree. The D line was manhandled far worse. The O line held up for the most part against a really, really good unit.
