    Anyone Play Broom ball

Have been looking for an active winter hobby (my other hobby of ice fishing isn't exactly the biggest calorie burner). Have been wanting to play broom ball for a couple of years and figured this year I might give it a try.

Does anyone on here play in the Des Moines league? Is it worth it, is it fun, how in shape do you need to be, etc.

Just looking for advice or feedback on this as I think I might try to play this year.

    Thanks

    Re: Anyone Play Broom ball

I only played in college. Now I play each year for Veishea. I've had some friends play in leagues in DSM. I guess they had a good time but there can be some really competive leagues.

I played in it last year. Decent time, but the ice rink had melting problems last year and we didn't even finish the season.

I'm not sure if they are doing a fall league, but the winter league is played outside downtown.

50/50. The organization leaves much to be desired and I won't play if it conflicts with hockey, but I'd do it again.

They offer full ice and half ice options depending on how much running you want to do.
