    A proud Cyclone father

    Rivalry week is so fun.

So, my 5th grader wears her Lil Cyclone shirt to school, and her Cyclone book cover (yes new for today) for her 5th grade teacher.

(Great teacher, but UNI Grad and hawk fan)

    So for today,

-He puts his arm around her and says "I love you, just not for today".

-he calls her and another person wearing Clone gear forward to the front of the class, and had them stand between him. He then he asked "what is wrong with this picture" and then a student sitting down said "The black and yellow t-shirt" (that the teacher was wearing) Ha! (I know this students father, a Cyclone grad)

-Then he send my daughter to her desk and called 2 student in in hawk gear to the front and asked the class "what is right with the picture?"

-So my wonderful, intelligent Cyclone 5th grader, raised her hand and when called on by this teacher she simply said - "Nothing". (dad is so proud!)
    -
If we win the teacher has to make the class cardinal and gold sugar cookies and take down his Hawk poster for a week (as is insisted by my daughter).

-If we lose, my wife has to make chocolate chip cookie for the class.(Regardless, they would be served on Cyclone napkins.

-My point here is not to bash the teacher (he knows how rabid we are). The real point is 2 5th grade Cyclones shutting down and owning their teacher.

And as a point of note, in this class there are not many Cyclone fans, most are Hawks. However, those that are are Clones are in the gifted and talented program of course!

As my daughter just said, he was asking for it.

    CyAggie, father of 6.

Wow, what a shocker, a UNI grad that cheers for Iowa. Do they have no spine in Cedar Falls?

Wow, that teacher need to be handed his ***. In this age of multi-cultural education, no one should be singled out FOR ANYTHING!!

Ha! Good story, and I'm glad this wasn't a story of some jerk 5th grade teacher.

I know college football has become all about money, and we talk about the lack of national attention this game gets, but stories like this are part of why this game should never go away. It's a great week in this state, regardless of what it means to the pollsters or ESPN folks.

There are a lot of ISU fans that went to UNI too. Myself included. Some people actually mature past the high school mentality of having to cheer only for the school you attend.

Why is this a big shock? 5th grade Cyclone fans are more intelligent than Hawkeye fans at any age...

    Re: A proud Cyclone father

Let me be clear, he is a good teacher, and as parents we requested him for our all of our kids.

He just has a few character faults. However just this week, he told her to speak up for herself! (be careful what you wish for).

And also, if you cannot gather as such, my daughter will never give up, never surrender!
