What are you doing for the game?

I have never been so lonely for an ISU-Iowa game. I bet I've asked 20 people if they are going to be around to watch the game in Ames this weekend, and everyone is going to Iowa City or busy.

Looks like i might be watching the game alone in my living room. Still decked out in cyclone gear, blasting the fight song and drinking a few brews.

    Some college life!

I will be watching the game 2 feet in front of my tv. Probably cussing at the tv after every bad thing we do.

Alone in front of my TV. It will be very intense as Michigan and ISU play big games at the same time. There will be two TVs involved and a lot of noise. the emotional rollercoaster could kill me.

The debate: watch it in the comfort of my own home or go to a bar with a couple friends where there will be a bunch of Tavern Hawks....

I will spend the morning brewing beer for my Brewing Science and Technology class, grab a beer or two at the Fort Collins Oktoberfest, watch the game, and leave for elk hunting.

    Killer Colorado Saturday planned...

I will be alone as well. My wife, who is an Iowa grad will be out of town, and that is for the best for this game. Usually on ISU/Iowa Saturday she is watching in the family room, first floor, and I'm in the garage man cave. We don't speak until the game is over. Or some years we go to our respective sport bars and meet for dinner later after the game.

Believe it or not, we have done this every year during our 40 years of blissful marriage. This the first year that we are not in the same town, I'm in Omaha, and she is in Burlington visiting mother. Rather than viewing from opposite areas of the house, we will watch from opposite ends of the state. But she'll be home on Sunday, at which time condolences will be offered to the loser. And then the Iowa/ISU rivalry will mercifully fade into oblivion until basketball is played in December. Then the same ritual will be played out yet once again.

I'll be down in the basement watching the game, while my wife watches something else upstairs. Thank God I put the big tv down there!

Here in Texas, I'm planning on tailgating out in my apartment parking lot, then either watching the game at a sports bar or at my apartment complex with a couple friends who are ISU grads.

Re: What are you doing for the game?

I'll be there. Whether or not it's a good thing remains to be seen, but the reward of winning there and seeing the reaction around the stadium outweighs the risk of an ISU loss, IMO.

Re: What are you doing for the game?

I'll be watching from the comfort of my living room on my 46-inch HDTV. My roommate Hawk fan has to work so I don't have to worry about watching with a group of Hawks like last year. Some people have invited me out to watch it at sports bars but I don't really feel like mixing it up with tavern hawks so I'll choose my recliner

I will be in Iowa ****** with many other mildly unfortunate fans but it sounds like all of those left in ames should maybe have a friendly tailgate/party for the game. sounds like it could be a good time??

    I'll be there.
