    Any chance the Hawks looking ahead...

    I know the old mantra of taking each game one by one is played out. But lets face it, next week in the desert could be huge for the Hawks. Probably more national interest, playing against a team that is expected to contend for the Pac 10 title (sleeper pick), played them tough in IC last year, and could possibly be ranked if they have another impressive showing this week.

    I am not saying that we should count on this, but it is human nature to lose some focus when a bigger game is to follow -- insert KU vs Northern Iowa here. It would be nice to take advantage of any sleep-walking on the part of the Hawks.

    Just another angle on Thursday afternoon when I am wishing it was Friday afternoon. Man, I am glad I have to work on Saturday morning, I am tired of the talk, and need some football to be played!

    Absolutely not. I'd bet a lot of money that every Iowa football player has news clippings from the 02 and 05 game pasted inside their lockers.

    If there is one team in the country who knows not to look ahead....its the hawks. Last season taught them that lesson very well.

    It's their biggest game of the year. Of course they aren't looking ahead. Hawkeye players are on record every year saying that the ISU game is the one the coaches talk the most about during camp

    I disagree. I think they could look ahead some. Its not a absolute that they wont. They are young and human.
    They dont take Iowa State as seriously as a lot of you think.
    Plus they thumped us last year. And they arent worried about what happend in 2005.
    The one thing that hurts ISU as far as Iowa looking ahead is concerned, is all the pressure on Iowa this year. That will help them focus on one game at a time.

    They most certainly do take us as serious as we think. It's the #1 most talked about game while they are on campus. It's the most talked about game by their peers. It's the most talked about game by their coaches during camp. They won't look ahead. They haven't looked ahead in the last 10 years
