MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

Why, because the offense looked bad against Madison Bumgarner and Dan Haren gave up a few homers? Newsflash: both of those things tend to happen a lot.

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

Fowler has been a legit All-Star player since the All-Star break. His performance over the last month and a half has given the Cubs a legit leadoff hitter for the first time since Lofton in '03...

    Re: Favorite Golf Courses

    Played:
Finkbine (it kicks my *** every time, but I do enjoy the course)
Sugar Creek (very well-maintained course and it's affordable for me)
    Honey Creek
    Waveland
    Willow Creek

    Want to play:...

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

That's true, but what's good enough to win is relative. I'm sure there are at least some of those 300 game winners that would have won a lot more if they'd been on better teams, and others who...

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

Not really. There isn't a pitching stat that says less about a pitcher's value than W/L record. ERA is partially dependent on defense,, park dimensions, etc., which is why it's flawed. W/L is...

    Re: Most Underrated Movie

    61*

First saw it when I was like 12, and it's always been one of my all-time favorite sports movies ever since. I'm also a Barry Pepper fan; he rarely gets big roles, but he's good at what he does.

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

This winning thing is fun. Let's do some more of that.

Seriously, though, it's just unreal to think that we've got the fourth-best record in baseball and have won 15 out of 16, and we're STILL 7.5...

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

I really don't think it's the worst thing. The Cubs could easily pass the Pirates with how they're playing and the easy schedule this month. Put Arrieta out there against Pittsburgh, let him own them...

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

People have largely stopped talking about the Cubs farm system because Bryant, Schwarber, Russell and Soler are all with the big club now, but it's way deeper than just Baez.

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

Well they did try to get that in Martin this offseason. Montero isn't bad, though, and Willson Contreras is the guy of the future, IMO.

MLB: Re: ***Chicago Cubs 2015 Season***

I'm still holding out hope for him on the north side. I still believe he can be a good player, Baez -- while I admit he looks a lot better in AAA this year and I want him to get another shot -- is no...

    Re: Geno Smith

Pretty sure parents and coaches do this all the time without getting punched. You guys might not like Smith, but he is the starting quarterback and is a guy who might need to get in a teammate's face...

Depends on your definition of sucker punch. Some people use that term to describe any unannounced attack.

    Re: Geno Smith

Honestly, given the way the NFL has handled discipline regarding domestic abuse, I'm not sure that punching out the starting quarterback and sidelining him for 6-10 weeks wouldn't be considered a...

    Re: Sydney Seau (Junior's daughter)

The NFL and the HOF are much better off for having let her speak. That was well done and wasn't just a repeat of the tribute video. That absolutely added to the festivities.

    Re: Best College Rec Centers.

The weight room/fitness areas are great, too. I wish there were more basketball courts, but with the Field House there isn't much need to add that currently. The second phase of the rec center will...
