    Re: Kids playing football

really? There aren't thousands and thousands of movies featuring violence, available at all hours of the day that I can watch with my child, and enjoy together?

    I mean, that's what you're talking...

    Re: Kids playing football

sort of like how I enjoy watching The Hobbit with my kid and then expect them to not go out and kill a dwarf with a sword. Talk about mixed messages!

I'm kidding of course. I didn't enjoy The...

    Re: Kids playing football

I think you may be correct. I could see it taking a little longer, but I think a change is coming. As new research is done, more people will take notice. The big threat might be from insurance...

    Re: Kids playing football

unfortunately, as more research is done, it's being found that it's not something that you can really account for through protection of your head and monitoring. It's not about just "getting your...

    Re: Kids playing football

No, if my daughter wanted to play football, I'd have the same discussion with her. The difference is, when I say I don't have to worry about my daughter playing football, it's not because I think...

    Re: Kids playing football

That's totally valid, and I know that when I was 14, I certainly wasn't thinking long term. However, I do know that the type of parent that I try to be, doesn't allow for a lot of "forbidding"...

    Re: Kids playing football

I think you're operating under old data. Look at recent CTE research. They're finding evidence that repeated, lower impact, non concussive hits, such as the kind done in the trenches on every play,...

Thanks. It was getting chilly in here. I think we all needed a nice, big blanket statement to keep us warm. Kudos.

    Re: Kids playing football

It's something I don't have to consider for several years. I know my wife feels differently, but when it does come time to make that decision, I'd like to think I'll sit down with my son and lay...

Re: fair priced hotel in ames for oct 17

Never used Airbnb, so I can't speak to that, but I've definitely used Uber, and it's just a matter of building a better mousetrap, in my opinion. It just works so much better than taxi services in...

Re: fair priced hotel in ames for oct 17

I'll echo what others have said. $125 a night on a game weekend is easily market value. 15 years ago, the going rate at the Super 8 on South Dayton for a room on a game weekend was approaching...

NFL: Re: 2015 Minnesota Vikings Thread

I agree. Wallace will command safety help on his side of the field in many situations, due to his speed. Just having a guy who is a threat to take the top off of the defense is important to other...

NFL: Re: 2015 Minnesota Vikings Thread

Mathis doesn't make sense because of his associated price tag. It's depth they need. Mathis is a guy you bring in to start.

    Re: Driving in Ames

They need to finish extending Grand down to 16th street to ease some of the pressure. Apparently, they're progressing on that project, but it's slow going.

    Re: Driving in Ames
