Re: Cole Anderson torn ACL and other injuries

I'm not claiming to be a genius. Everyone knows what goes on every single year. Get the fans excited about the season, and ticket sales will respond.

College athletics is all about the...
  2. Re: ***Official UNI @ Iowa State Prediction Thread***

If you just go by talent, then I think ISU wins by 2 TDs.

However, because of coaching, it will be tight. UNI will play MUCH smarter and more fundamental football than we will, just like...

Re: Cole Anderson torn ACL and other injuries

JP doesn't have to tell them.... they know what they need to do. If the coaches were to say how bad we look in practice and that it's likely going to be a long year, yes, it would kill ticket...

Re: Epps playing as a Freshman?

I have no problem with this decision as long as the kid plays, and plays quite a bit.

If he ends up playing 10 plays all year and has one catch, then yes, it will be wasted. Don't burn his RS...

Re: Cole Anderson torn ACL and other injuries

Here we go! Coaches starting to give us the stark reality now that most of the tickets have been sold. They are coming up with excuses already for why we'll lose to UNI.

    We've been through...
  6. Re: What is Randy talking about in the 1st paragraph?

Fine, then don't say anything at all. But no, instead he wants to insinuate that he knows something just to be an arrogant jerk. Not only that, but he wants to stir up controversy too. I hate...

Re: WhI have player is under the radar?

That would coincide then with what Beyer has been saying. Jones, Harris, Harvey, and Peters running as the ones. Probably means the twos are Northrup, Seeley, Mills, and Knott maybe?

    Not...

    NFL: Re: NFL Offseason Thread

I'm pretty sure he's with the Giants now.

Wes Welker is available, but that doesn't do anything for me. Might have to wait and see who gets cut by other teams?

    Honestly they probably...

Re: O-LINE: Mangino sees "vast improvement"

That is odd. Burton is one of our taller OL at 6'6". Not the most conducive to playing center usually.

    NFL: Re: NFL Offseason Thread

I wish Reggie Wayne wasn't taking a physical with the Patriots already. I think the Packers would be smart to go after him if Jordy is indeed done for the year.

    Re: Did I Miss this?

I probably worded my statement wrong. When reading it now, people might think I was saying that Hoiberg was looking to leave ISU because Paige went to KU. That's just stupid.

    I meant that...

Re: O-LINE: Mangino sees "vast improvement"

Does anyone know if there's ANY chance at all that Oni could move to center if needed? With Oni and Taiese both battling for the guard position, it would be a luxury if we could move Oni to center...
  13. Re: CFTV: Mangino comment's on Saturday night's scrimmage

That's what I was sensing as well. I thought he's sounded more positive about earlier practices than he was last night. Maybe the offense didn't perform so well yesterday and he wasn't too happy...

Re: WhI have player is under the radar?

I understand that, but everyone on here so far has stated that our 4-3 DE's (Pierson and Taylor) would be the DE's in the 3-4 as well. IMO, they would make more sense as OLB's.
  15. Re: CFTV: Mangino comment's on Saturday night's scrimmage

I got the opposite feeling from all the coaches interviews last night. I felt like they were kind of tempering people's expectations a bit. Or was it just me?

    They just kept talking about...

Re: WhI have player is under the radar?

I'm guessing Cousin would be the next guy in? I just wonder if 296 lbs is big enough for the NT position in a 3-4? I feel like Demond Tucker is just going to be double teamed to death in a 3-4...

Re: Former UNI RB David Johnson...

I love David Johnson's story, and he seems like a great kid, so I wish him nothing but the best.

He was overlooked by Iowa and ISU, and goes to UNI and becomes probably the best football player...

Re: WhI have player is under the radar?

It's obvious that the coaching staff LOVES what Jay Jones brings as a pass rushing blitzer as an OLB in a 3-4, but I'm not sure you change your entire defensive scheme around one guy that hasn't even...

Re: WhI have player is under the radar?

I am LOVING this discussion! This is the kind of thing I really enjoy talking about on here.... X's and O's, strategy, etc.

I'm thinking Beyer is on to something here. Most people that have...
