  1. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

I think it all depends on Texas. I can see them staying and trying to bring in some top schools from ACC (after their GOR ends).
  2. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

First, I think GOR is solid as I have stated before, but let's look at two assumptions:

    1. GOR is ironclad and no one is able to move:

That means that no one is leaving the Big 12 until 2025...
  3. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

That is only 2 teams and most likely they aren't colluding. However, if it is 8 teams ALL going to the same conference, then the likelihood of it not being collusion is very low at that point. 2...
  4. Re: Men's Final Four tix given away TODAY right here . . .

I thought it was from the Lego movie until I googled it. And then legothug wins. Ironic.

Re: ISU to B1G was discussed in 2011

This is a 2010 argument. TV sets will be defined very differently in 2025 and may be completely different on the priority then.
  6. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

    1. No team will leave Big 12 until at least 2022.
    2. There are not 9 spots left in PAC, Big Ten, SEC and ACC. There is no cap of 16 teams in those conferences. Why do people keep believing this...
  7. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

    It's not a rumor. It is in the ByLaws. 1.5.2 (b) (2).

  8. Re: Will this controversy of the future of the B12 ever stop?

Exactly. We are talking about a scenario that won't play out until about 2022. The TV landscape will be very different in 7 years. ESPN has even talked about a direct to consumer product long...

MLB: Re: Johnny Cueto to the Royals

Not every Cardinal fan is like BodeClone. Some of us are nothing like Hawkeye fans. There are idiots in every fan base.
  10. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

You are completely missing my point. I know that is what the Bylaws says. I know that the GOR continues in full. I believe that I have stated that the Rights continue and have even stated the...
  11. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

There was an article saying that GOR was useless because there was no termination clause. My point is that there is a termination clause in the Bylaws (that references the GOR), so the whole article...

  13. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

Bylaws references the GOR many times and the termination clause in the bylaws references how to handle the GOR in that situation. So the are not completely separate documents. They are related...

Why worry about being lame? If other people don't like what you like, that is their problem. Not yours.

  16. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

And even if they did, their GOR might be an issue. (Of course, their deal does end in a couple of years, so not sure how long their GOR is.)
  17. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

I understand that fully. But when people say there is no termination clause they are misleading. A GOR is never meant to have a termination clause because rights don't have termination clauses. My...
  18. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

This would only make sense in 10 years, not now. Adding OU right now would not help much because Big 12 would get the money for all of their home games.
  19. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

SEC would have a look-in clause. However, at this point, I don't think ESPN and CBS would offer any more (other than to keep the per school payout the same). There would be no financial reason for...
  20. Re: ***Official B12 Expansion/Implosion Thread 3.0???***

Here is the defense when exit fees were applied:

Did leaving the conference cause harm to the remaining parties and how much?

Here is the defense when GOR is applied:

    Was the party that...
