  1. Re: Bridget Carleton Named To Canada’s Junior National Team

I started watching today's game early in the 4th quarter, the first game I've watched. She's good at creating her own shot. I look forward to seeing her play Div I basketball -- what I saw from the...
  2. Re: Bridget Carleton Named To Canada’s Junior National Team

Canada had 22 fouls and 32 turnovers, yet Carleton (who played over half the game) was 0 and 0 in those categories. She also had half of her team's 6 steals.

Her 1/9 was bad, but the team shot...
  3. Re: Bridget Carleton Named To Canada’s Junior National Team

She had another tough game against Belgium, who rolled over Canada 67-52 -- 10 points on 4-15 from the field.

If anyone does watch it, feel free to post timestamps of nice plays by Carleton so anyone who doesn't want to watch the whole thing can see highlights. :)
  5. Re: Bridget Carleton Named To Canada’s Junior National Team

    Canada 71, Mali 62

Carleton struggled from the field (3-14 overall, 2-6 3pt) but made 5-5 FT and led the team in points (13) and rebounds (9).

    Re: Sisters add Vandy transfer

Good point. I've changed it to not assume that she'll be seeking a medical redshirt.

    Re: Sisters add Vandy transfer

Her suspension was paired with her being temporarily kicked out of school. Sounds like some sort of error in judgement (such as academic misconduct). She rejoined the team and the university in the...

    Re: Sisters add Vandy transfer

That's exactly what I was thinking as well, although I don't know if the graduate exemption lets you switch mid-year and still play immediately.

She should be able to transfer to ISU immediately...

Re: Do we have anyone in the WNBA right now?

Nope. Pop probably has the best chance to stick with a team at some point, but she's been battling injuries so it won't be this year.

It's the typo phrase "she really nice tidbits" in the original post, which I've now seen several times and still laugh at every time thanks to TXCyclones' post. :)

  13. Re: WBB Jadda Buckley and Claire Ricketts receive medical redshirts for 2014-15

Huh. I was under the impression that medical hardships weren't granted until eligibility had otherwise run out. Granting them after the season of injury (which is apparently how it actually works)...

    Re: Too Quiet ?

The coaches are primarily watching a bunch of AAU events right now. There aren't likely to be campus visits, so the only real news would be if someone were to commit. We still have no 2016 WBB...

Re: NCAA Women's Basketball Rule Changes

The first number only contains fouls in the single/double bonus. The difference (around 21.5) is the average number of non-bonus fouls (fouls 1-6 each half).

Re: NCAA Women's Basketball Rule Changes

I just assumed two shots per shooting foul. That never even occurred to me.

In the NBA (the only place I could find this stat) players made around 22% of the shots in which they drew a foul. ...

Re: NCAA Women's Basketball Rule Changes

ISU MBB (from 9 home conference games last season):

Assuming no shooting fouls, quarters would have 4.2 fewer FTA per game (both teams combined)
Assuming 30% shooting fouls, quarters would have...

Re: NCAA Women's Basketball Rule Changes

If you assume 30% of fouls are shooting fouls (a number I completely made up but seems reasonable):

The change in FTA in ISU home conference games decreases from 3.3 to 2.3
    The change in FTA in...
