Re: Thursday OT - Best Covers

I'm a geek about the holidays, and like the off kilter Christmas songs, so I'll offer this one up. Love Fran Healy, his band Travis is as cool as it gets. Here they cover Joni Mitchell's song...

Jose Feliciano in Fargo, 1996. Some squirrely looking guy and his paid escort at the table next to us wouldn't shut up.

That's tough to beat. Freddie Mercury is the best rock vocalist of all time in my opinion.

That's awesome. Hopefully you weren't one of the ones throwing ***** onto the stage, prompting Westerberg to tell the crowd to f*ck off and leave stage less than an hour into the show. Doesn't get...

    Re: Expansion

You're quoting numbers from 2012-2013. Live in the now. For 2014-2015 the Big 12 average distribution per school is $25.6 mill. It's right here. That doesn't include third tier, and if you're Texas,...

    Re: Expansion

For 2014 the Big 12 payout per school averaged under $26 million.

The B1G payout per school averaged $27 million.

    Re: Expansion

Right. And the B1G per team payout is still more than the Big 12.

    Re: Expansion

Oops. I guess I was wrong. B1G still outearns Big 12 in TV money even with its old deal in place. Ouch. The only reason the Big 12's per school payout looks good is because it only cuts the $$$ up 10...

    Re: Expansion

I'd gladly take that bet. The conference projects $35+ mill per school in the last year of the current contract before the new deal is even signed.

    Re: Expansion

The Big 12 started earning more per school after it signed its current media deal in 2012. Of course they're going to make more with that deal than the B1G schools make off a deal signed in 2006. The...

    Re: Expansion

Not after next year when the B1G inks its new TV deal. Estimates are upwards of $45 mill per school, nearly doubling what they make now and blowing away every other conference. I'm sure UT could...

    Re: Expansion

ACC has a GoR in place through '26-'27. There really aren't any options left out there better than the Cincy's, USF's, and BYU's of the world.
