Re: WILLIAMS: And the coaching search begins...

The more I've thought about it throughout the past week, I'm leaning towards wanting Otz to be our next head coach. He's been at ISU for a long time and I think he'd be here for a while if he has...

Re: WILLIAMS: And the coaching search begins...

Hopefully this will be one of those Schnellenberger/Jimmy Johnson situations, where the first coach brings the program back from the dead and the next coach takes the program over the top. One can...

Re: More of what Hoiberg said at the airport

Still holding out a sliver of hope, although I know it is foolish. As many others have stated in this thread, I always thought Fred would leave for the NBA someday. But now that day is here and I...

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Monday, June 1 Open Thread

Is it not at least a little personal? Most of us contribute money to this program by buying tickets and/or donating. Along with that, many of us are alumnus or current students of this university. So...
  6. Re: Does the legacy of the "mayor" change after this?

I think it will change just slightly. Still admired by the people of Iowa but not like what it is now or could have been.

It's not like anyone is forcing you to read an opposing team's message board.

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Friday, May 29 Thread

Just being realistic. Who knows what kind of transfers we can get without Fred, and that's what we'll need to be decent.

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Friday, May 29 Thread

It has been fun, but we'll be right back to where we started real fast unless the next coach is an excellent recruiter. I don't blame Fred, it just seems like the worst possible timing.

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Friday, May 29 Thread

It's the timing. He used a quick fix so he could get a job that he wanted and perhaps, looking more likely everyday, leave us in the dust.

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Friday, May 29 Thread

That's an ok backcourt at this point. You have an unproven pg, a guy who we haven't seen play after hip surgery, a project, and two guys in Burton and Thomas that would have to improve a lot to lead...

He wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't exploring every option.

Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Friday, May 29 Thread

Don't forget he essentially gutted the program so he could do so. After next year, we have absolutely nothing. I realize that we have Monte, Matt and a few others, but not enough to make the...

NBA: Re: *** Official 2015 NBA Playoffs Thread ***

I don't know who to believe here. Players from that era or random message board posters. Tough choice.

NBA: Re: *** Official 2015 NBA Playoffs Thread ***

Yeah that's when he was 22(!!!), and leading a team of scrubs into the finals. Jordan didn't make the finals that early in his career.

    Such a weak argument...

NBA: Re: *** Official 2015 NBA Playoffs Thread ***

I had to respond to this because it might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read basketball related. Shaq was the most dominate player in the league back then and even before Kobe. Good lord....
