Re: Hoiberg Watch 2015: Saturday, May 30 Thread

Only way he can stay is if he agrees to a large NBA buyout $4m minimum and a very firm public statement.

I don't think he's willing to do that so unfortunately it's best if he goes.

I don't think that Chris or any of these media guys are working an agenda, but you have to keep in mind they get their info from sources.

And sources often do have agendas.

I've heard Hornacek is mildly interested but JP hasn't contacted him fwiw.

Re: SOURCE: Hoiberg/Bulls not a "done deal"

You're being way too overdramatic. Fred lived in Ames, Indy, Chicago, Minneaplolis and then Ames again.

For all we know he and his family prefer it in Chicago and can't wait to never live in Ames...

    Re: Recruit Lists v2.0

If that rule isn't passed this year, it wouldn't probably affect next year anyway. We better pray that we can take 1-2 immediate transfers next year, unless we somehow land 1-2 sit out transfers...

Yes, the vast majority of people aren't dorks like us and spending 15 hours a day glued to our computers following this crap.

Re: SOURCE: Hoiberg/Bulls not a "done deal"

Well, now we know why all of a sudden the claims surface that he's really struggling with the decision and having second thoughts.

Nothing more than a diversion to buy time while he leverages up...

    Re: Recruit Lists v2.0

I get what you're saying, but that same group (more or less) just lost to a Sunbelt team in the first round. Let's not pretend that a top 10 ranking in May automatically means you go deep in the...

Re: SOURCE: Hoiberg/Bulls not a "done deal"

It would be the perfect scenario for TJ. Learn from one more NBA coach and continue to develop as a coach. TJ could carry a lot of the work load in prep for when Hornacek leaves or another head...

Re: SOURCE: Hoiberg/Bulls not a "done deal"

Could potentially be smoke from the AD, so that the media doesn't hone in on the real candidate?

    Unlikely theory, but possible.

If it's Otz, I'll support him and wish for the best.

Re: SOURCE: Hoiberg/Bulls not a "done deal"

Not buying that Fred is torn for a second. It's been going on for weeks. Its not like you wake up and have an epiphany about ISU/Ames/NBA after all this time.

This is about buying time or a smoke...

    Re: **** Official Transfer List '15 ****

We really need someone to sit out this year to play the following year, IMO. Has to be TJ's first order of business once this coaching fiasco gets straightened out.
  14. Re: List of potential replacements should Fred Hoiberg leave

I think this search (and I use that term loosely) was wrapped up a while ago.
  15. Re: List of potential replacements should Fred Hoiberg leave

He probably is, but it's worth the phone call.
  16. Re: List of potential replacements should Fred Hoiberg leave

I wouldn't care if we had to drop every single men's program not named football or basketball to pay the man whatever it takes to get him to Ames.
  17. Re: List of potential replacements should Fred Hoiberg leave

Whoever it is, I'm going to rally behind him and hope he's a total stud.

    Re: Recruit Lists v2.0

Yes, Tyler Cook said he and his mom were talking frequently. Other past recruits had said similar things. He was reported to go to AAU events pretty much all spring and summer in the past.
  20. Re: List of potential replacements should Fred Hoiberg leave

I tend to agree that is somewhat going on here.
