Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

To him, no, of course it doesn't matter.

But to me the fan of ISU it sure as hell does matter. It matters when other so called fans try to tell me to wish him well and root him on in the NBA when...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

NBA is the pinnacle for players. It's not for coaches.

    Go around and ask the average Joe these two questions and tell us the resutls;

    1. Who was that guy who stood on the sideline wearing a...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

I don't think NBA coaching is the pinnacle. Pay wise, yes. But not in respect. Except if you think you can surpass Phill or the Spurs coach. (who I can't even remember his name if that tells you...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

And I think that's where we sorta can agree but also disagree.

Is the program in a better spot than when he arrive? Abso fricking lutely.
Will we be dancing next year regardless of coach? Damn...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

I think there are too many on the board who can't separate the feelings of being a fan to being a person.

As a fan I can say I feel he owes our program something and that him leaving definitely...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

I'll agree with that. 8 years would still be tough to accept if he left then instead but 5 years places it squarely in the stepping stone category.

What mainly peeves me is that he is the Mayor...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

it died the day Larry lost to Baylor in the first round of Big 12 tourney. We didn't even see a glimpse of it till Fred's first year.

Because we were given no reason to think if he was successful he wouldn't be here that long.

No one (and you're lying if you say otherwise) thought he'd pull a Tim Floyd and bolt for the first NBA...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

As to 2016-17 to me I'm not worried with Fred at the helm. Recruiting is no longer long term. Us of any school should already have figured that out. If you have holes you fill them with transfers.

Predecessors. Even Larry lost to Iowa with a good roster on our home court. Larry, hurt it. Wayne and McD killed it. Fred brought it back.

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

Because we've never been to 4 back to back NCAA dances, and looking at number 5. No other coach has had ever ranked in Top 25 ALL DANG SEASON. No other coach at ISU has actually put real fear in to...

Nope, unless you have the right coach that greatness won't matter. Look how far recruiting fell off after Larry took Floyd's teams to back to back Big 12 titles. Didn't mean squat because recruits...

That's a good mindset. He's a human and can do as he pleases. Me as a Cyclone fan can be upset and see how this hurts ISU's basketball program. We will be devastated in 2016-17. Back to be the cellar...

Re: Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

I hate when someone tries to chime in that we all knew from day 1 what we were getting and he said the NBA was his dream jobs. That's a load of crap.

Re: Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

Doubt it's TJ and that JP would give too much weight to Fred's recommendation. You're kidding yourself if you think JP will listen to Fred's input on his successor. Dean Smith was the only one in...
