  2. Poll: Re: Thursday Poll: Items in your Office, Cubicle, or Work Space

When one of my bosses and I worked at a former employer's, he was out the night before with some business clients and got smashed.

He showed up late to work the next day, and there on his desk...

Re: Friday OT #1 - Style

Jeans and a nice shirt to work most days. Except Fridays -- right now its jeans, tennies, and an ISU tee-shirt.
  4. Poll: Re: Thursday Poll: Items in your Office, Cubicle, or Work Space

I forgot. On my desk I have a candle warmer for my over-sized coffee cup and a two year old can of salmon.
  5. Poll: Re: Thursday Poll: Items in your Office, Cubicle, or Work Space

I have a white board that visitors (mostly my daughters' friends) leave me notes on. Don't think I ever wrote on it myself.

Re: Good Thriller (Not Horror/Scary) movies

I really liked the two Sherlock Holmes movies. I'm a sucker for a good fisticuffs scene.

Re: Weirdest places you have sneaked in Beer?

Took a flask to my aunt's wake. Her husband and I had a couple snorts, while he took a break from well-wishers. I like to think I eased his pain a little.

Snuck a fifth of Jack into a SF Giants...

Re: Something's wrong with my ear(s)

My mom used to warm up a little olive oil and pour it in my ear when I was a kid. Seemed to work. Also have had an ear flushed at the Doc's. That worked too.

    Re: Mad Max: Fury Road

I got to the theater half an hour before its scheduled time, and as soon as they started seating, I was in. Got IMO the best seat in the house -- dead center, dead middle. Wouldn't have mattered...

    Re: Parenting help/advice needed

The purple foods have a lot more anti-oxidants in them.

My take is that kids will eat lots of different things when they're hungry, and are fussy when they're not. And there will be some things...

    Re: Friday 5: Favorite months

May is #1 -- Crappie fishing, turkey hunting, morels, and the smell of fresh-cut grass.

June #2 -- My birthday, Father's Day, if I go to Canada on a fishing trip, this is the month for it.

    Re: R.I.P. BB King

My oldest daughter wanted to go see him when he was in town, but got into some trouble with me beforehand. So I acted like a dad, and cancelled our "date."

    I'm now regretting it.

Re: Friday OT - Ridiculous Coaching Experiences

It happened after I was out of HS and in the military, 1977-79 era, but it made national news. My alma mater was Dubuque Hempstead, and our in-town arch rival were the Wahlert Golden Eagles.

Re: Woman gets tasered by border patrol

IIRC, there was a situation outside of Council Bluffs recently, where a guy got stopped for something, allowed the officer to check his vehicle. The officer found a bag with a fairly large amount of...

Poll: Re: Tuesday Poll: Favorite Post-Apocalyptic Movie

Completely forgot about Twelve Monkeys! Last thing I think I ever saw Frank Gorshin in. It's one of those movies I have to watch if I stumble across it.
