    Re: Best sandwich in DSM?

"Killer" sandwiches at B & B Market come with a side of attitude. Always a fun stop.

    Re: Maybe I missed it...

Tie made him feel light-headed - a symptom of his leaking heart value - so he stopped wearing it.

    Re: Re-watched the game....

We were in Louisville. Walked into a bar after the game and a UK fan comes up and says "Your man got fouled on that last one." I hadn't even noticed since I was in shock that we were actually going...
  4. Re: Need 1-2 tickets for Saturday (Louisville)

I bought my tickets through NCAA.com's ticket exchange. Reasonably priced but no clue where we are in relation to other isu fans.

With the limited supply being sold through ISU it might be...
  5. Re: Glory days: Could you dunk? How old is too old to try again?

I'm 6'4" and have long arms so that helps. I played semi-regularly up to 30 or so. Any dunk post college was not in a game for sure. Only did that once or twice "in my prime" if you can call it...
  6. Re: Glory days: Could you dunk? How old is too old to try again?

I could dunk in college...rare occurrence but did happen in a couple intramural or Lung Shot games.

Could still dunk at 30 or so, maybe even 35. Now 45. Can touch the rim but that's it. No...

Re: Serious question.... Was it sold out?

I agree on the low number of KU fans. However, we were "lucky" enough to have two sitting next to us. A kid and his older brother. Dude's wearing a KU shooting shirt and KU basketball shoes. I...
  8. Re: Old Timers: I found something that might jog your memory

I was at the Michigan game in Minneapolis and in KC for NC State. I was in high school and my dad called me in sick to work so I could go to the Michigan game.

    Re: Moving to Des Moines

I'm a West Des Moines resident and my family and I like it alot. School is huge - sons class at Valley has 715 kids - but that also gives you tons of opportunities for AP classes, extra curricular...

Re: Iowa State Basketball All Time Dunk Team

Sam Mack and Mark Baugh could both really throw it down. Neither finished their careers at Iowa State (armed robbery and bad grade respectively) but they were fun to watch.

    On a side note - I had...

Re: Old South Bleachers and Scoreboard

I saw the guy take the sign down. Guy with us had brought in sockets but not a screw driver to get the sign off so we didn't even try. He helped "the smuggler" get the top unscrewed and then he...

Re: Last Home Game As A Student

My last game was the Marv Seiler lead upset of Nebraska. Great way to go out. Lots of not-so-good football in my 4 plus years at ISU however.

    Re: Cyclone Comparison Team

Nice Mo Cheeks reference. He was a very good point guard for those very good/great Sixers teams.

Re: Things Heard at the Game

In the south end zone - two minutes to go in game:
"The noise you are making with your foot (I was stomping on the metal bleacher floor) could cause damage to the structure."

    Um, ok security...

Re: ISU FB hall of shame

20-17 and then Drake dropped D1 football for the following season.

It takes intestinal fortitude to be a Cyclone fan. I have 30 years of scars to show for it.

But also a handful of great...

    Re: Defense

    Agreed.

Can't do much more than they did without a little help from the offensive controlling the ball once in a while.

    Clearly tired at the end.

Re: Gardenhire era at an end in Minnesota

Lots of young talent coming up. Maybe they don't trust him to develop it anymore? He's been there a long time, could the club house have tuned him out?

Love Gardy but it might have been time.

    Re: Mangino at Valley?

Courtesy calls on the coaches are important for sure. Raridon got to see the Iowa offensive up close last weekend. Maybe we think we have a chance to at least re-open the conversation. Who knows?
