Re: Demond Tucker a Force on the Inside

If a 3 technique routinely commands a double team, there is a good chance that someone in the front 7/8 will have an opportunity to make a big play.
  2. Re: Spring Update: 4/2/15 (Lynn, Tucker, Harris, Syria)

Agree. There is good depth at the outside wr positions - not so much at the slot position. Lynn might be a better fit at the slot position than some of the taller guys.

    Re: Fall honeymoon options?

Are you sure that you want to continue down this path? One of the main aspects of compatibility should be agreeing that fall is football season and summer is wedding season. I hope that you are not...

MLB: Re: 2015 Minnesota Twins thread

While Hughes' Target Field splits were better in '14 compared to Yankee Stadium in '13, his away splits also improved considerably and were much better than his home splits. This is more evidence...

MLB: Re: 2015 Minnesota Twins thread

Pre-season is the time for optimism so I'll take the plunge and expect a 85 win season. I actually see enough upgrades from last year to justify the thought of winning an additional 13 games.

    If...

Re: What is your user number?

I'm curious as to when BVDV signed on and what the hot topics surrounding the AD were at the time. Anybody remember his user name?
  8. Re: CFTV: Quenton Bundrage returns to the gridiron

Not likely. He redshirted his freshman year so the 5 year limit comes into play. It's one of the unfortunate drawbacks of redshirting in a year with no medical issues.

    Re: BDJ

I wish that Fred could have landed BDJ when he transferred after his freshman year. He would have had a redshirt year to learn what his responsibilities are in terms of both offense and defense in a...

    Re: OU floor slapping

The 4th guy looks like that he is getting ready to do the floor slap but then decides that it might be more important to close out on Matt Thomas. The 5th guy is probably too busy planning when to...

Re: Five thoughts on the start of spring football

Some of us survived the Walden era with 65 scholarships so you have to know your reading audience.

Also maybe some of the reporters thought that they were in Iowa City and would be denied access...

Re: What was Eric Heft saying???

The definition of a "throw-in" is "the method by which a team with possession inbounds the ball". So by definition, you must have possession before you can inbound. I believe that it does start as...

Re: What was Eric Heft saying???

Unfortunately, this thread has too many people making officiating arguments based on opinions that are not supported by the rule book or definitions in the rule book. The stopping play for a head...

Re: What was Eric Heft saying???

I apply the equivalent rules in both situations so there is not another pitch because time is called after play on the runner is over.

In a basketball situation without a player in immediate...

    Re: DLC now a WR?

For anyone who remembers the 70's, ISU had two very successful QB conversions in that era.

Earle Bruce took advantage of Vinny Cerratto's outstanding speed to put him on the receiving end of...

Re: What was Eric Heft saying???

It's basically a judgement call. If continuing play risks putting an injured player in further danger, you stop play. The preferred situation is to let it play out if the injured player is away...

    Re: officials were good today

Good point. If we could get John Higgins and 2 clones to show up for 25 games a year, I could live with that. Likewise if we had to endure 75 Paul Jansens in a season, the question would be what do...
