  1. Idea: Re: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

Nobody's crying. I'm not sure why this offends you so much but thanks for voicing your opinion.
  2. Idea: Re: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

It won't turn into that if it's curated. They curate threads already. This is just one step further. I'd like to at least have the option not to read 99 posts of nothing to find 1 post of actual...
  3. Idea: Re: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

On the contrary. I just think there has to be a better way.
  4. Idea: Re: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

I'm not talking hard news like a guy has narrowed down his top 5 or made a decision or whatever. Even new stories posted about a recruit, even if they don't offer anything new, is fine. Updates from...
  5. Idea: Re: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

I'm not arguing those should go away. The long threads could still post news too. I'd just like a news-only thread (or some other solution) for when I don't have 20 minutes to go through days' worth...
  6. Idea: separate recruiting threads with actual news only

Every few days I check in on the MBB board for recruiting news/updates and have to wade through dozens of people speculating, and arguing about each other's speculation, to find any real, actual news...

    Re: Ankeny Living

I would have saved myself a lot of keystrokes had I just come up with that comparison a couple hours ago.

    Re: Ankeny Living

That seems to be a priority area. The new market pavilion space they're putting in should help kick start things there.

    Re: Ankeny Living

I'm not really defending Ankeny in particular here, it's just that you're not making sense. You were the one who dropped in to say Ankeny was bland, boring etc. in comparison to other places. But you...

    Re: Ankeny Living

Again, I'm not really sure what you're trying to compare here. Ankeny to Omaha? How many other places in Iowa have attractions that rival Omaha? Des Moines, that's it. So it's not really a fair...

    Re: Ankeny Living

I think you're confusing "Ankeny" with "most of Iowa" or "most of anywhere in the United States." Let's be real here...how many places in Iowa would you take a weekend getaway to? Maybe a handful?...

    Re: Ankeny Living

Had such high hopes for Number 7. That was a huge disappointment. I do like Firetrucker quite a bit though, just wish I could spend more time there.

Re: Hoiberg to have medical procedure on April 17

I saw something on Twitter about a 1:00 press conference, but no mention of the subject. Is this just Hoiberg meeting with the media to discuss his surgery?

    Re: Ankeny Living

But in fairness, what really makes West Des Moines, West Des Moines? Or Johnston, Johnston? It's not as if those places have unique cultural identities either. They're all basically the same, the...

    Re: Ankeny Living

I'm a lifelong central Iowan who's been a homeowner in Ankeny for nearly 11 years. We first lived on the SW side, right near Crocker Elementary, as that area was growing. We lived there when Prairie...

    Re: Cheick Diallo

That's not what I'm saying at all. I can't imagine it would eliminate us, just as I can't imagine MA leaving not hurting ISU's chances, at least a little. We now have more to overcome than we did two...

    Re: Cheick Diallo

I think we're in agreement here. Where he will develop best is unknowable, by anyone. The best you can do is try to predict based on coaches, systems, personnel already on the team, etc. Which is why...

    Re: Cheick Diallo

That's definitely possible. I just find it difficult to believe that for a 5-star, almost certainly one-and-done caliber talent, that a relationship with an assistant coach (not even a head coach, an...
