Re: Five thoughts on the start of spring football

Hopefully these guys get it figured out. Like every season, injuries can't happen for this team to have a chance to compete with the middle of the conference. Have a feeling CPR has Harris and Tucker...

Re: Starting Seniors on Senior Night

My uncle is named David. His mom is my grandmother. I don't think she's left the Linn and Benton County area in about five years so I doubt she'll come to the game. She might watch it on tv though,...

    Re: Alton Meeks

I don't think he was slow because he lacked speed, he lacked knowledge of the college game and played tentatively. Most of the players who appear to be slow don't lack speed, they lack the knowledge...

    Re: Spring practice starting tomorrow?

I would love to see an extra lineman sometimes, but I doubt it will be Lalk. Taiese got in once or twice in this role last season at the goal line. Speaking of which, I hope Taiese gets legitimate...

Help: Re: how do I send a private message?

    Carrier pigeon.
  8. Re: This year vs. last year. People have short memories.....

This year's team has more talent and depth, and Fred certainly had high expectations for them. I think it's incredibly reasonable to have expected this season's team to be better than last seasons.

    Re: Spring practice starting tomorrow?

Pretty close to what I'd have. I'd expect Warren to be starter at running back and split time with Syria and Brown somehow. Sounded like either Jones or Floyd would play nickel.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

He's not a go to guy in the halfcourt because they chose for him not to be, not because he is incapable of it.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

Mann is in his fourth season at Iowa State and has been a Division I assistant since 2001. I'd call that seasoned.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

It's also huge when the head coach keeps giving the ball to the power forward rather than the point guard who can pretty much drive whenever he feels like it.
  13. Re: It's probably life threatening to post here right now ...

There are eight teams that could win it all in Kansas City. And even beyond those eight TCU could win a couple games.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

I still think Doc's understanding of situations in close games is a loss. Last season we were 14-5 in games decided by ten points or less. This year we are 8-7 in games decided by ten points or less.

Poll: Re: How satisfied are you with our season?

I put satisfied. It's a good basketball team, just think with the talent and depth they've left a lot on the floor during most of the losses.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

It was a nightmare situation but not because Kane was all that talented, IMO. BDJ is significantly more talented than Kane. Kane just had the leadership and toughness needed in those situations....
  18. Re: It's probably life threatening to post here right now ...

The toughness and leadership of Kane and Ejim is missed. I expected more leadership from Niang and Morris and was hoping the toughness issue would fix itself. So far I've been wrong.

Re: Is the loss of Doc Sadler bigger than feared?

I do think we miss Doc, but most importantly we miss the toughness that last year's team had. Kane was completely fearless. Also, as far as I can tell this year's team has more talent than last...
