  1. Re: Congrats ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great win over BU

I was shocked by this as well. Not buying KM's explanation either. Every team has a visual signal to foul at the end of the game. Cripes, I had one when I was coaching freshman girls' BB. Kim was...
  2. Re: Twister Sister Summary - ladies follow blueprint on way to victory over TTU

I'm just glad Amber Battle can't shoot a lick. She is an amazing athlete. Can't believe how smooth and quick she is.

    Re: Hope for the future.

From CJL's comments - sure sounds like they are thinking about her at outside hitter.

    Re: Around the Big 12

We have discussed this many times on these pages. Even had high hopes last year with the "freedom of movement" guidelines - indicating that more fouls should/would be called. But, just as we feared,...

Re: Redshirting a possibility for Buckley

The only fly in this ointment is that WBB players quite often graduate in four years, and unless they are interested in grad school - the 5th year is not so attractive to them.

    Seems to me they...

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

Did anybody else notice that the color analysts' keys to the game listed Baylor and "Norfolk State?"

Re: The Shake It Off video!

To me, just the joy in those kids' faces makes this very fun! It is a big hit when played during game time-outs. The kids that are not in the game have a hard time not averting their eyes.

Re: Best guard in the Fennelly era?

Certainly arguable. I called BF's call-in show one night and posited that she got the most out of her abilities since Megan. Based on her improvement from freshman year to senior, I would give the...

Re: Best guard in the Fennelly era?

Nobody has had a motor like that since. Closest has been Chelsea P.

I was sitting six feet behind her during the "tie" incident. When it happened, all the women in our section gasped, not sure how...

Re: Best guard in the Fennelly era?

Yep - Megan played mostly 3, although it could be easily said that, like most Fennelly teams, they were effectively a 3 out, 2 in team.
  14. Re: Twister Sister Summary - ladies lose after surrendering 65 in second half

I did not watch the game, but my wife was listening to the radio and tearing her hair out.

A couple of things stand out: 1) Nikki is so important to this team, and she alluded to that once during...

    Re: Coaching Changes

Just as an update. La Tech currently 5-7. I wonder how patient they will be with Tyler. I see that Mickie DeMoss is his lead assistant. She would have to a huge help.

Re: VB Semifinals - Texas VB Hosed

Not at all. In my experience, R2's make touch calls quite a bit. The following is from an NCAA Rules Interpretation Letter this fall:

"If there is a reasonable chance that the first referee did...
  17. Re: NCAA Volleyball Tournament - ISU is still hosting a regional

In the "what if" department - Wisconsin did very well considering Carlini was playing on one leg. She was extremely limited - tight passes, overpasses, defensively, blocking, etc.

    Re: Emily Durr Article

Except that she does not suffer from Tracy's reluctance to shoot. Coach's arm used to get tired from beating TG with a stick trying to get her to shoot.

Defense has a LOT of room for improvement -...
  19. Re: Twister Sister Summay - Ladies edge hot shooting Stony Brook.

If we can't guard Stony Brook, how the heck are going to guard Iowa, Texas and Oklahoma??

I know the R1, this her 17th time officiating at the state tournament. How many times have you read the rule book this year??
