    Divisions

I'm not a big fan of divisions. Even in a 14 team conference have a 10 game conference schedule and the top 2 teams face off. Wouldn't Ohio State vs. Mich State been a better championship game? ...
  2. Re: COLUMN: Five thoughts on ISU victory over West Virginia

That was probably the best 40 minutes of on-ball and team defense we have played all year. Great effort by everyone. Even when WVU went on their mini runs to close the gap a few times during the...

    4-3

The way we have played on the road, to finish 4-3 is probably most likely. Our road schedule might seem easier- but there are no gimme home games in WVU, BU and OU.

    Any News on Walk-ons?

I haven't seen anything on potential walk-ons among the 2015 class. Anyone have the scoop.

    Defense Doesn't Develop Overnight

I am srill hopeful this team can grasp that solid defense is the key to winning games.

CFH and staff get alot of praise from fans and media, they are going to earn their pay over the next 3...

I am more intrigued after Saturday

I thought the jump hook was pretty sweet. As others have mentioned, if he hits the weightroom hard and adjusts to game speed, he could be a nice role player. Rebounding is going to be critical for...
  7. Improvement Falls on Coaches as WellHopeful

Hopefully there is enough of upgrade in talent to overcome the loss of Jensen, Morrissey, Miller and Mutcheson. IMO our improvement falls as much on the coaches as players. We need to be more...

    I Liked McKay Starting

IMO starting McKay gives us stonger post defense with McKay, Niang and Hogue. It reduces the need to double down when the ball goes into the post, which has freed up opponent 3 point shooters. I...
  9. We Have a Long Way to Go

I am not a big fan of bend don't break defense in a conference where the majority of offenses are timing based pass heavy. I hope we see a more aggressive defense in 2015. We need to make opposing...
  10. Re: Target: Jaypee Philbert II - OT Coffeyville CC

Really like: the get, if true. We need as much competition as possible on the o-line and like the big body. Developing a run game is the key to a solid 2015 season.

Re: If ISU ends up with an extra scholarship

Depth at QB isn't achieved by signing multiple kids in the same class unless there has been attrition. ISU takes the approach of bringing in one kid in each class and that seems to be a good...

Crazy Fans and Players Getting Caught Up

I think ISU has a group of fans who buy into the hype machine. They are more about ISU being rated in the top 10 or what ESPN has to say, than understanding the journey that a college basketball...

    Addition By Subtraction

I don't like to see guys leave the team, but the reaction by some "fans" is pretty comical. You would have thought Richard Sherman, Dez Bryant and Rob Gronkowski just left the program by the doom...

    Good Recruits Don't Hurt

But I think there are other issues to the Big 12's struggles

Over a limited number of games- a few mismatches can make things look worse than they really are. The non-conference games between...

Its Jan 18. Rankings are Important

I could care less if we are in the top 5, 10 or 25. We have 14 Big 12 games left, let's beat K-State on Tuesday! It was nice having game day here on Saturday, but lets keep the focus on the court....

    Re: Sam Cook

I'd like to see the staff focus a little more at instate kids to play positions like OL, TE, DL and LB. IMO Iowa HS kids that that aren't obvious recruits like Lazard are undervalued.

    Cook might...

    Re: Big 12 Bowl Struggles

W/L are the measuring stick in sports so the 2-5 Big12 record in bowl games is a big disappointment. However, I think to use them to declare one conference is stronger than another can be taking it...

Re: This is not an NCAA Tournament Team

We have too many really good players to play an F game and I'd be surprised if we have a D game in us either. South Carolina played a decent game and only beat us by a handful. An F game would have...

This is not an NCAA Tournament Team

IMO some fans are more about the prestige that a top 10 national ranking, potential high NCAA Tournament seed and hype by ESPN/other national media outlets.

Right now we are 0-0 in what promises...

    Why is Bigger Better?

Right now the Big 10, ACC and SEC are at 14 teams and the Pac12 is at 12. IF more teams was automatically better the Pac12 would be all over BYU, UNLV, etc. to get to 14. IMO the realignment push...
