    Re: #Hang5atHilton

If Fizer isn't qualified to have his jersey hung, I'm not sure we'll ever have another one who is.

On a general note, I'm always a little unsure about putting too much emphasis on voting awards by...

    Re: enCYCLONEpedia: Controllable shooting defense

Except in late game situations, almost any shot a player has a good chance on making is a good shot. Edozie shooting a wide open 3 is a bad shot. Anyone but Niang shooting a spinning, 8 ft hook...

This is a joke, right? Just making sure, cause if it's not this makes no sense.

    Re: enCYCLONEpedia: Controllable shooting defense

I missed the 1st half of the TTech game for DVR/channel reasons so I didn't see most of his shots that game. I don't recall many from any previous games. Naz is almost exclusively a...

    Re: enCYCLONEpedia: Controllable shooting defense

A pet peeve of mine is when people take a result, and use that result to declare definitively the reason for it as they see fit. eg. 'Team X shot 37% in the first half due to Team Y's superb...

    Re: Niang's Fading Post Presence

Then maybe he should be getting fed the ball in the post more... He's a good enough passer that if McKay's man moves over to help he can dish the ball.

Addressing the earlier post, Niang's 3's in...

Re: Updates on former Cyclone targets or commits

I don't know how close we ever were with this guy, but IIRC he had a visit scheduled for here but committed to Oregon like the weekend before or something.

    Dwayne Benjamin...

Re: COLUMN: This team can't be trusted

I don't know why people keep saying stuff like 'this team isn't mentally tough, they don't have heart, they lack toughness, blah blah blah'.

It's pretty simple; the team saw a Tech team that was...

    Re: Niang's Fading Post Presence

If true I wonder if it had anything to do with what he'll need to play in his post isu career.

I really like the ball fake he's been bringing out on 3s the last few games. Like a few guys on...
  10. Re: *** Postgame IOWA STATE vs Texas Tech Game(day) Thread ***

I missed the whole 1st half as I had to dvr the game; who was 'defending' on all those made 3's in the 1st half?

Isu shot 66% on 2's; we should probably keep chucking 3's. Also, I about lost it...

Re: Top 5 Favorite ISU Basketball Victories

UCLA 2000 was probably my favorite game ever.

Notre Dame 2 years ago was good; clinic by Georges.

    Royce's domination of UConn.

2001(?) vs KU in Hilton; game where where Sullivan took a...

I really like when nader's offensive game resembles hogue's, ie mostly inside with one or two open 3's sprinkled in.

    Re: Hats off to K-State

What was k states fg% on 15-20 footers? Seemed like about 70%. Foster is all but unguardable; if he goes off they'd be a very tough team to beat.

Re: Iowa State #9 in AP Poll (1/19)

Most of the teams in the 8-14 range besides Iowa St are hard to rank as they all look good and have good records, but only have about 1 quality win a piece.

Re: Iowa State #9 in AP Poll (1/19)

Baylor had 0.1 seconds more vs ksu and chery got a layup (tho he missed.) I just wish we'd gotten a better shot.
  16. Re: enCYCLONEpedia: Iowa State vs. Kansas Preview

Any idea what percentage of Ellis' shots are him spinning to his left shoulder? In the couple games I watched this year he does the same thing ever time he catches the ball with his back to the...

I know, I was commenting more on the many serious posts about point forwards around here. I meant at Iowa State. Also, Magic and Sabonis are both Hall of Famers.

    Re: Cheick Diallo

I get your joke, but its absolutely true. People around here often seem to confuse the two. Niang can bring the ball up the floor and is great to have to relieve pressure on the PG or break a press...

I assume ISU's preference for those two 15/16 scholarships are Diallo->undergrad transfer big->undergrad transfer PG.

Re: Matt Thomas did not play

I'm pretty sure it was Thomas, Morris, Niang, Naz, and BDJ. Thomas inbounded, when Niang had the ball BDJ was on the left wing, Naz on the right. BDJ was the easiest pass and the most open.
