    Re: What the heck happened?

certainly there were things that should have been better, especially on the defensive end, but in some way the slowdown served its purpose. We missed some FTs and Texas hit 3s at a rate that they...

    Re: Osceola Shootings

I spent too many years getting the DMR. It seemed like every story about a problem in Iowa accompanied a county per capita map with a dark band along the MO border with maybe a Wright or Webster...

    Re: Hoiberg Overlook Tech?

Buy me out from Creighton and let me give the pregame talk and coach the first three minutes. Then I'll go sit in the stands and eat funnel cakes and corn dogs for the rest of the game while Fred...

    Re: Hoiberg Overlook Tech?

Good teams come out flat from time to time. We come out and get down by 15 or more to bad teams on a pretty regular basis.

I am glad the UT game is so close. I think ISU will take care of...
  5. Re: *** Postgame IOWA STATE vs Texas Tech Game(day) Thread ***

no, Tech scored nearly as many points against us today as they had in the past two games combined. Our defense was not good enough today either.

    Re: Hoiberg Overlook Tech?

Not sure how you can defend the staff here. We have 3.5 years of good ISU teams coming out of the gates not simply flat but completely unprepared to compete. This has happened way too often.

    Re: ISU employment

Anything in the first 1/3 is traditionally considered the hiring range. You can start higher, but that requires significant justification. There also may be budgetary limitations restricting how high...

Re: McKay: Long Arm of the Law

I haven't paid attention to McKay. I just took Seth Greenbergs word for it that McKay would not be an immediate impact player and questioned whether or not he wold play hard.

    Re: Iowa @ Wisconsin

I agree, I don't find Wisconsin boring to watch on offense, they actually run a lot of action and force you to defend the whole shot clock. They just rarely settle for anything but a great shot...

Re: Jameel McKay or Rashon Clark?

Ejim was great but mysteriously got rejected by the front of the rim a few times.

Re: Matt Thomas did not play

I like that comparison. MT reminds me if a guy from Tennessee a few years ago named Dane Bradshaw. Similar size and skill and took a few years to settle on a role and was valuable on a good team.

Re: Matt Thomas did not play

I never got why people thought he was going to step in and be a sharpshooter. He shot a respectable but not great 3 PT percentage against mediocre competition as a sr in HS. As for the lighting it...

    Re: Something is missing

While I worry about play vs physical teams but overall I agree, ISU is going to be very good by March. To me if we show up even remotely ready to compete at the start of the game this is a fairly...

    Re: edozie..

It's stupid for me to question anything Fred does, but Edozie's lack of PT last night floors me. Quite frankly I'm not so sure Edozie's ability to crash the offensive glad doesn't make him as...

Re: Big 12 Refs Strike Again

Blue bloods get calls. Home teams get calls. Star players get calls. Refs tend to swallow their whistles in end of game situations. Push offs and hooks by offensive players are called only a fraction...
  16. Re: *** Official #11 IOWA STATE vs #22 Baylor Game(day) Thread ***

I want me some Edozie. Offense won't matter when Baylor gets three cracks every time down the court.

Re: Georges Bum of the Game

If ISU wins Niang should dance across the court a la Buzz Williams after the game. Those hillbillies were just frothing at the mouth in rage after that.
