Re: COLUMN: This team can't be trusted

I find an indication of "freezing up" in bball is taking all those threes instead of working for better shots. Just like going for quick winners in tennis instead of being patient. Indicates...

    Re: HOIBALL TURNING INTO HEROBALL

Maybe they were dead last in 3 pt. % because other teams guarded them closer? Open shots are easier to make.
  4. Re: *** Postgame IOWA STATE vs Texas Tech Game(day) Thread ***

What BS. They could be a great defensive team if they chose to put forth the effort. Please.
  5. Re: *** Postgame IOWA STATE vs Texas Tech Game(day) Thread ***

Then that's on Fred, not the players. We have players who have no interest in playing hard defense (TTech players after the game said as much) and they stay on the court. That's on Fred.

NFL: Re: New England under investigation

    This could get good:

"One source described the league as 'disappointed ... angry ... distraught,' after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday."

    NFL: Re: Bears fans...

Not with Vic Fangio now on board as DC. Bears have done a 180 degree turn in one week.

NFL: Re: New England under investigation

I think it's a pretty big deal. Puts a big cloud over the Super Bowl.

Re: Redshirting a possibility for Buckley

Buckley and Moody just don't mesh well together - that would be a good reason for a medical redshirt...

Re: Redshirting a possibility for Buckley

This above everything else. I'm not sure I'd want to sit out if I were her; I'd want to play.
Dangerous IMO for a program to have a built-in excuse if it doesn't achieve their goals for the year...

    Re: Annual Bill Walton Thread

This. He always announces games as if there's no place he'd rather be.

    Re: Some positive news

I would have hired the UNI strength coach. They just plain knocked us off the ball. And their weight room is 1/4 the size of ours.

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

And checking last year's two games between the teams, Moody was a combined 9-29 from the field, and Williamson was 4-16.
But I'm sure that's just a coincidence too, that "cold shooting" when...

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

I agree with this - we can't lose a player like Buckley, and the many things she can do, against a team like Baylor.

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

Backing up and shooting outside of your shooting range just to get rid of a defender does not classify as a "wide open look." Sorry. The story of this game was Baylor's D.

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

Agree that Baylor focused on shutting down our two best shooters - Williamson and Moody - and succeeded.
Don't know about "LONG" conference season though. Who else in the league plays D as hard...

    Re: ISU @ Baylor

    I agree with the announcers.
Those "wide open looks" weren't necessarily by our best shooters. Baylor is year-in and year-out the best defensive team in our league. Huge difference between Texas...
  18. Re: The Biggest Knee to the Groin for Big XII and TCU to End the Season

These are good questions. And were votes known to everyone else in the room? Able to be challenged by others? Defended with facts and or reasoning?
  19. Re: The Biggest Knee to the Groin for Big XII and TCU to End the Season

Well, I would like to know who in the committee dropped TCU from their "top 4" in the final vote. Long's comment about OSU's "body of work" doesn't cut it. I would like to know.
  20. Re: The Biggest Knee to the Groin for Big XII and TCU to End the Season

You make it sound like TCU steamrolled everyone they played. They did not. Late in the season, even, they almost lost - should have lost - to KU.
