Re: Another Article on Possible Big XII Expansion

I agree the FBS will eventually go to 8 teams, the lower divisions are already at 8 or 16. I just wonder how long it has to stay at 4 because of bowl contracts, or if they could work around that.

    Re: Nice start Big 10

I'll give you that the final score was a little deceptive, but saying Illinois should have won when they lost by 3 scores is a bit of a stretch. Now losing by one point because you have a kicker...

    Re: Nice start Big 10

Dropping 3 int's right in their lap and shooting themselves in the foot with dumb penalties all night, USC would have lost by 20 to a good team. I will give Nebby credit in that they did play...

    Re: Nice start Big 10

Agree. Hard to give the Big 10 much credit when probably 95% of the kids playing for Rutgers today never planned on playing in the Big 10.

    Nice start Big 10

Illinois getting blown out by La Tech, who is led by a qb that left Iowa because Ferenz had him buried deep in the depth chart. Their qb, Cody Sokol, was born in DM and his mom and uncles grew up in...

Re: A question to you older fanatics: Donnie Duncan

Mike' brother was Maynard, but you're right, that defense had a lot of studs that could blow people up. I think Tom Perticone was also in that group who was a big hitter.

Re: A question to you older fanatics: Donnie Duncan

I never wanted to miss a Tuesday luncheon when Earl was speaking. He'd be talking about an opponent or game situation and then suddenly pound the podium with fire in his eyes that made you want to...

Re: A question to you older fanatics: Donnie Duncan

I get the sarchasm, but it's true that a coach really doesn't have most or all of his own players until years 4,5, and 6, and those were pretty good years for Earl.

Re: A question to you older fanatics: Donnie Duncan

Archer was a great Cyclone qb for the two years he was here, even though he spent a lot of time running for his life. Imo he and Seneca were the two most talented qb's I've seen following Cyclone...
  10. Re: Old Timers: I found something that might jog your memory

You're right, posted before thinking it thru (but I am an old old timer). It was LE's bunch and I remember seeing Creighton play up there also as Ryan Sears was on that Creighton team. How could I...
  11. Re: Old Timers: I found something that might jog your memory

Yes I was in Minneapolis and K.C for those big games. I was in Minneapolis both times we were sent up there and it seems like we also beat Miami of Ohio on a Hornacek buzzer beater if I remember...

I would jump all over Schiano if I were Pitt.

    Re: SDW is transferring

Agree. I originally posted about SDW in reaction to some of the posts that I thought were too optimistic about his abilities after his big day in the cap city league. I had seen him play a few...

Re: Larry E kicking some butt!

I don't think most people do equate addiction to cancer, though obviously it can be as deadly. But I think it's pretty obvious that drugs affect the brains of people differently, whether it's...

Re: Larry E kicking some butt!

I agree with a lot of what you say, but with LE's problem becoming very public capped by the circus created by the photos, I think the university did what it had to do. LE himself said he probably...

Re: Larry E kicking some butt!

I'd be all for that and we beat them in o.t. Always liked LE and for some reason I can't think of him without thinking of Pete. That's a great read and so thankful and happy for LE that he's sober,...

    Re: SDW is transferring

Fair enough, though I think I've only seen a couple on here. Mine was more in response to the fact that some people literally get attacked if they have a different opinion on a player or coach than...

    Re: SDW is transferring

You must have been one of those ripping on us and calling us SDW haters among other names just because we didn't think he was going to play much at ISU. Stay classy my friend.

    Re: SDW is transferring

Some of us did get raked pretty hard on here for posting that SDW was likely not going to see a lot of meaningful minutes on the court for ISU. But he apparently was a good teammate with a good...

    Re: Three years ago today...

Just re-watched it a couple of times. The tight end was running a short out and the ball was so badly underthrown he was trying to stop to get back to it when it was intercepted. I'm not blaming...
