    Re: Pollard Ribbing the Register

oh yes, I forgot about the media and Lazard. Particulary fun when murph pitched a fit when people complained about the Sears inteview.

I like murphy but he is very thin skinned.

Re: Texas Tech Wed., Nov. 26

Volleyball seems to run things pretty smartly. NCAA bids are dependent on RPI much more so than basketball. The do-over was very unusual but hell, it seems kind of fair.

    Re: Day Before Thanksgiving Thread

    1. Not married, no kids, so I haven't hosted. We do have an extended family Thanksgiving that we aren't going to this year. Looking forward to just the immediate family. I won't go home until...

    Re: Hoiberg interview

Honestly, I worried a lot about the NBA last year. I'll probably always worry about the NBA. But he does have a good answer for it and I think that the more successful he is at Iowa State the more...

    Re: Hoiberg interview

Watching this now. First, Larry Curtis looks the same as he did when he taught Business Law to me in probably 1999 or 2000. He hasn't aged.

Second, it deserves to be repeated....we are so, so...

Re: Ran into Niang, Hogue, and Naz today

Last year almost everything went right....I may live another 50 years and not see a season like that.

But I have no doubt that the players care. Who knows if it turns into a good season.

    But...

    Re: Replacing Kane

I loved Kane. I think he was practically perfect in every way. But Kane wasn't Kane all year long. And Kane couldn't lead Iowa State to a victory when no one was hitting jack **** (see the Kansas...

Re: What are you drinking tonight?

I had really good cherry beer (I don't know that it is really beer like we think of beer, but that's what they call it) when I visited Belgium a few years ago. Last week I found Raspberry Belgium...

    Re: Pollard Ribbing the Register

I'm not going to either, but they lose the right to complain about not being able to cover the replay match when they won't cover any of it.

    Re: Pollard Ribbing the Register

I know.....the integrity of the game doesn't depend on the Register having reporters there. And we all know there is NO WAY that the Register would have reporters at the game at 10:00 in the morning...

    Re: Pollard Ribbing the Register

It does seem weird that the media wouldn't be involved. But it seems even weirder that the DM Register cares at all.

Bobby from the Tribune was complaining about it also, but I don't know that...

Re: Texas Tech Wed., Nov. 26

Jamie's response is funny but probably stupid. However, I don't know why the media even cares about this. Do they honestly think the results would be rigged if not for the great presence of the DM...

Re: Texas Tech Wed., Nov. 26

The media is apparently in an uproar that they weren't involved in the finished game. I guess I kind of see the point, but what the hell does it really matter? That's one thing about sports media...

Re: Freds Quote " Not playing for each other"

To be fair would have been hard to get assists when shooting like we did last night. Kind of reminds me of last years game at Hilton. Deandre tried to play hero ball since no one could make jack...

that was still a pretty great team. You are setting yourself up for misery if that type of team will **** you off. Must everyone be reminded of what basketball was like around here 6 years ago?

  20. Re: *** Official Alabama vs #13 IOWA STATE Game(day) Thread ***

I wouldn't be so sure of that....everything that he's said about the subject and/or hinting around it makes me think that he would seriously consider going pro next year.
