    Re: Gundy to Florida?

He already has a pretty good contract and last year it was about scheduling as he doesn't want to play another power 5 school because he doesn't think there is any benefit to it.

    Re: Gundy to Florida?

He might regret it, but I don't know how much longer he would have lasted there. I thought Barry had a lot of issues with him so I wonder if it would have hit a point where Bielema's contract would...

    Re: I Say Keep PR!

A few reasons for me is that after 6 seasons it seems there is still a very large minority that still can't spell Rhoads name correctly. If JP goes out an gets a Ken Niumatalolo, Pete Kwiatkowski, or...

    Re: Jaime Pollard jbp@iastate.edu

Yeah I am sure all the misspellings for Rhodes are because of autocorrect too.
  5. Poll: Re: Do you think Rhoads will be fired? (Not what you want)

What was McDermott's buyout? I don't think the basketball program could take the same hit as the football program.

Poll: Re: Would you fire Paul Rhoads?

Unless CPR has completely lost the team then I think he should be fired at the end of the season. What other benefit would it serve to fire him now? I don't think any coach who is currently coaching...
  7. Poll: Re: Do you think Rhoads will be fired? (Not what you want)

I don't think JP can afford to have him around for another season. I have a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to fire him, but how much more will the AD lose if CPR is retained?

Poll: Re: Would you fire Paul Rhoads?

Instead of firing Rhoads the best case would probably be for him to leave and become the head coach somewhere else. Does Creighton need a football coach?
  9. Re: Rhoads due $500k raise and $300k bonus in February

It is not a bonus, it is a retention payment. If he is fired before February 15th, I do not think he receives this or the next one which is due in 2018.

Poll: Re: Would you fire Paul Rhoads?

I think the real question is why you thought he shouldn't have been on the hot seat, because usually when you vote for these it shows your vote in italics...

Re: fire all the coaches v3.0

I think Ken Niumatalolo, Pete Kwiatkowski, or Jeff Jadgodzinski should at least be interviewed.

Re: fire all the coaches v3.0

I think Pollard knows he is already in a bind especially with the remaining buyout of Rhoad's contract. I think that is the one thing that is holding him back from firing him, but if ISU loses today,...

Re: fire all the coaches v3.0

I hope our next coach has an easy name to spell or something so complicated that almost no one can spell it right.

    Re: 1811 Eastlake, Seattle, Washington

I don't even know what you are arguing here. Sure this program will probably indeed rehabilitate some, but I guess I see that it more than likely does not help. Once again, I do not think the program...

    Re: 1811 Eastlake, Seattle, Washington

How many places do you imagine will let someone who is drunk into a shelter? Probably not too many if any, so these people are already choosing to forgo two of their basic necessities of food and...

    Re: 1811 Eastlake, Seattle, Washington

Quite a few people would accept free food, housing, and booze. If you give someone these things then what more of an incentive could you give them?

    Re: 1811 Eastlake, Seattle, Washington

I guess I disagree. I think there are some homeless alcoholics who are pretty content in being drunk and having no place to live, so it is pretty hard to give them incentives to improve.

    Re: 1811 Eastlake, Seattle, Washington

I think this is pretty much it right here. It is a successful program in that it gets some people off the streets, probably reduces some crime, and saves taxpayers money. The main "hope" does not...
