MLB: Re: Chicago Cubs Offseason Hot Stove

Trading Baez for a middle rotation guy is a terrible use of assets. Baez may be a bust but he has tremendous potential, no use in giving him up for a middle of the rotation guy you can easily sign...

MLB: Re: Chicago Cubs Offseason Hot Stove

Bryant wouldn't lose much value at all, he's got 40+ home run type power. His bat will hold his value no matter where he plays. Castro is a very good hitting shortstop, if he becomes a corner...

MLB: Re: Chicago Cubs Offseason Hot Stove

I can't see Castro moving to left in any scenario. He loses a lot of his value if he becomes a corner OF, I think Bryant moves there if Russell comes up and the Cubs need another IF spot to open up.

MLB: Re: Chicago Cubs Offseason Hot Stove

I don't think the Cubs will be trading any of their elite guys this offseason. They have the resources to add talent through free agency and don't need to give up any of their top prospects.

    MLB: Re: 2014 Chicago Cubs

It makes sense to spend money on both positions, upgrade wherever possible.

    MLB: Re: 2014 Chicago Cubs

If you're spending that much on pitching, I think it makes sense to get a catcher who is one of the best defensive and framing catchers in the game. I don't see Schwarber becoming an everyday big...

    MLB: Re: 2014 Chicago Cubs

The Cubs have a ton of cost controlled, young talent, they have plenty of money available, that's not an issue.

And they pull out the win, good game for Hibbert 22/8/7 blocks.
  10. NBA: Re: ***Official 2014-15 NBA Regular Season Thread***

I think the Spurs are the best team right now. The West is just so tough, and you need some luck to get out of it, the Mavs took them to 7 games in the first round last year, Ibaka missed the first...

    MLB: Re: 2014 Chicago Cubs

I thought Renteria did a good job this year, got Castro and Rizzo back on track. There's really only one or two guys who the Cubs would have moved on from him for, but one of those guys just...

    Re: Pacers

I really enjoyed the Pacers announcer telling the audience you can't give up on this year just yet....with 11:50 left in the first quarter of the first game of the season.

    Re: Pacers

I'm watching this game until the World Series start, it's like a train wreck, I just can't look away from what Philly and Indy are going to be throwing out on the floor tonight.

Re: Big 12 on the outside looking in

I don't think any of those wins is a quality win, Minnesota just lost to Illinois, Maryland lost 59-0 to Wisconsin and Tennessee hasn't won a single SEC game. The SEC has significantly better out of...
  15. NBA: Re: ***Official 2014-15 NBA Regular Season Thread***

I'm kinda leaning Clippers at least to make the Finals this year too, San Antonio has never repeated, the Thunder just seem to have some bad luck hanging around the team right now. I think Cleveland...

Re: CFB Playoff Committee Rankings (10/28)

I assumed that was data the committee had put out but it looks like you are right that it's ESPN's, I can't find the SOS anywhere on the actual playoff committee's website.

Re: CFB Playoff Committee Rankings (10/28)

    1. The SOS that the playoff committee is using
    2. No, they have Alabama as the top rated team in their power index, it's all in the ESPN link. And yes there best win is West Virginia, which also...

Re: CFB Playoff Committee Rankings (10/28)

I completely agree with the first part. It used to be "20 wins and in" for the NCAA tournament and non-conference basketball schedules were designed to just rack up wins. Over the last 10-15 years...

Re: CFB Playoff Committee Rankings (10/28)

Ole Miss has beaten Alabama who the committee has evaluated as the strongest team in the country, they also have the 3rd ranked SOS, where again K-State is 47th. There one loss is on the road by...

Re: CFB Playoff Committee Rankings (10/28)

Because they lost. At home. It's not SEC bias, you don't get bonus points for "almost winning" games. Kansas State's best win is over Oklahoma, after that.... Auburn has beat K-State on the road,...
