Re: I'm a newbie to smoking meat

Yeah, you're starting with probably the hardest of the standard smoker items. I'd go 225-250 and take it to about 195 and then rest it for at least an hour. Its really more of a feel thing with when...

    Re: Smoking Meat

This is pretty much what I do. Rookie mistake I made with my first attempt was figuring it'd for sure be done after 2 hours per and it had to go another 3 hours or so total. Just plan to finish a few...

    Re: Walking Dead

I assumed he meant it was irony because it was Bob's group that forced them to leave Terminus and go "hunting," and the first group they had caught to start hunting and eating were the group that had...
  4. Re: National Journal: Do the Most Hipster Thing PossibleóMove to Des Moines

That sounds more yuppie than hipster to me. I always thought hipsters were the people wearing expensive clothes that are made to look like they're from a thrift shop.

If we would only install those glass roads to melt the snow, then we'd be cooking with gas.

Re: BLOG: Tip of the hat on the alt uniforms

Imagine if the refs got confused by our white uniforms though. The free calls we could get!

Re: Calls We Got Screwed On

I haven't followed every team but I can say with relative confidence that no, it's never happened to any other teams.

Re: Why is Ken Miller so butt hurt by JP

Well he didn't have those guys talk about the controversial call that started the whole firestorm, but he got us that Jon Miller reaction to the Pollard statement we were all craving.

Re: my rambling (long) officiating manifesto

The refs needed Texas to get the TD there for the win. I do think it would have been reasonable for them to call stopped forward progress but they swallowed their whistles, hoping that Gray could...
  10. Re: Jim Brinson, of KXNO's Miller and Brinson, leaving Des Moines

I would guess they thought that voting that way was voting to not add any extra officials salaries so the officials themselves were taking it out on them. I don't think they felt it had to do with...

Re: Why is Ken Miller so butt hurt by JP

Pollard has always refused to go on any of Miller's shows because Miller has criticized the ISU game day experience in the past and has never been to a single game. Miller has been butt hurt about...

Re: Some Jon Rothstein tweets from ISU practice

Nice change from football, which is often a rack to the ballz.

    Re: Cheick Diallo

Did you photoshop the ISU logo on there or did the city of Ames do it? That's really weird.
  14. Re: B1G Whiners Worried About Getting Left Out of Playoff

Yeah, who knows who he was focusing on but if it was either the SEC or Big 12Ö yikes. The Big 10 absolutely does not deserve to have a team in the playoff, they're terrible.
  15. Re: Amazing real color photographs from 1909, by Russian photographer working for Cza

How can people tell these are old? I assume if you walked around the former USSR today and snapped a bunch of pics, they'd look just like these.
  16. Re: Release: SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR SOUTH END ZONE PROJECT RELEASED

I'm not sure but I hope so. Makes it look like our colors are pink and canary yellow.

Re: Size Comparison of Sci-Fi Spaceships

That's another good one. At least Babylon 5 addressed it in a more realistic way than a "field generator" or something.

Re: Size Comparison of Sci-Fi Spaceships

Yeah, and they also bank when turning and make sounds out in space. (except for 2001) I'm assuming it would be too jarring to the audience to make it true to life. Agree though, doesn't make sense.
