    I am not sure to what I am supposed to respond here. Just because someone was fine with something doesn't mean it is an ideal practice.

    as WooClone mentioned, I think it is the "spare the rod" passage - same as why some churches don't allow women to speak in church due to a misinterpretation of a letter from Paul to the Corinthians.
