Re: Noticeable difference in QB Sam R.

He is being decisive. See the open receiver, throw the strike. Bang/bang.

    Re: Troy Davis

I was there for the 378. It was a video game-like performance. Last touchdown came right at me in the SW corner. That game is my second favorite attended football game behind TT and "The Run".

  5. Re: Want your marriage to last? Small rings and cheap weddings!

We spent around $500 on our wedding, and quite a bit on her ring, but didn't get outrageous. Bought her a bigger stone a few years later. Did spend about $4000 on the honeymoon.

    Huge weddings...

    Re: Helping kids with homework

It seemed to help a lot, as he zipped through his assignments with a few pointers from the teacher. I started noticing that math was slow for him a few years ago. He would get all the right...

    Re: Helping kids with homework

    I aim to please.

I'm sure there is some logic to it, but I've seen mind numbing ways to solve very simple problems using common core, and teaching organizations screaming bloody murder about it.

Re: Top Double-Double Machines in 2014-2015

He is. He just has a very hard time against Fred-coached teams as they run circles around him. Against more traditional teams, he can be a beast.

    Re: Helping kids with homework

I agree. It's almost as if the design is to make kids learn slower. It's that bad.

    Re: Helping kids with homework

As luck would have it, he is also in year two of engineering. He brought some home a few weeks ago to get caught up, and after an hour of looking at it, I told him, "you're going to have to stay...

Re: Putting dog down tomorrow. Thoughts?

I had to do this with my beagle last year. Her health was declining (arthritis, etc) and she had developed a terminal condition (can't remember what they called it, but she had something in her...

    Re: Helping kids with homework

I can't remember exactly, but it gave us a couple of reference points, like (2,3) and (-1,4) and asked us to write out the equation in slope-intercept form. Some of them were easy, but then they...

    Re: Helping kids with homework

That's the thing- the assignments straight out of the textbook are easier to explain because I can read back through (though sometimes that is even sketchy ), but assignments like this one had to...

    Re: Cheick Diallo

Fred can win big with top 50-100 recruits, along with transfers (that has obviously been proven). I'm not a bit worried about future talent. Kids like Diallo would push the team from "could make...

I'm actually really good at your basic math and algebra. At least algebra came back to me. The rest I just left in the distant past and I feel like I need...

    Helping kids with homework

My son is taking Advanced Geometry, and it's been over 25 years since I even looked at that kind of thing.

What drives me really nuts is the book will show...
