Re: Gardenhire era at an end in Minnesota

While I harbored no particular ill will towards Gardy, the lack of success in the postseason(Twins have won 2 games in their last 5 postseason appearances) coupled with the struggles of the past four...

Gardenhire era at an end in Minnesota

Just saw this on twitter a bit ago from the Star Tribune's LaVelle Neal.

"Holy moly, the entire coaching staff is not being brought back!"

    Re: Driving and multitasking

Its been awhile but the data I saw backed you up. Talking on a phone did increase risk in some studies but no more so then conversing with passengers or eating while driving. The dialing itself did...

    Re: Mexican Beer

Only had 4-5 Mexican beers but the ones that I remember standing out most were Pacifico and Negra Modelo.

Same here, I vaguely remember it being talked about in middle school science.

    Re: The game winning drive

Ran the ball 4 straight times was the epitome of getting too conservative. If Iowa doesn't go offside on the last set of downs we're looking at more like a 48 yard field goal attempt. Yes their risk...

    Re: The game winning drive

Disagree, got really conservative while still being being in the 40+ yard field goal range. Went away from the short passing game that had been the offense's bread and butter all game during that...

    Re: Best "Cheap" Beer

I wouldn't consider Nordeast that cheap, its usually over a dollar a bottle which would be my diving line.
Grain Belt Premium and Yuengling at the top end of my cheap range and Hamm's as my bargain...

    Re: Camping in Iowa suggestions

Yellow River as already mentioned is very nice. When I was doing some canoe camping very end of May I really enjoyed Eagle City Park(city no longer exists) on the Iowa River in Grundy County. Nice...

    Re: Windows Phones

Windows 8 is much better on a phone, the vast majority of annoyances with the OS are caused by it being way to oriented towards touch and not mouse and keyboard. I personally have an android phone...

    Re: Pleasant Valley girls track

My question, why is that against the rules? Seems silly to punish athletes for seeking out better competition. I can understand the not training with college teams part but merely running...

    Re: 6/29-6/30 Weather Thread

Be interesting to see the national news come tomorrow morning, the second line that went through has had 80+ mph wind gusts(warned for up to 100) and even a report of 75 mph sustained in the Chicago...

    Re: 6/29-6/30 Weather Thread

    1. When you talked about "just running a bit high" that's indicative of close to flood but not in it, I in turn posted information from the NWS that showed, yes the Skunk is predicted to crest above...

    Re: 6/29-6/30 Weather Thread

Skunk will likely flood. Ames itself might not have gotten heavy rains but what matters for a reasonbly sized river like the skunk is what happens upstream and areas of Hamilton and northern Story...
  16. Re: Excessive Alcohol to Blame for 1 in 10 Deaths

Yeah traveling at 60 mph vs 25-40 is waaaay safer for everyone. You may be endangering less people in rural areas but the risks to those you do encounter are higher.

    Re: 6/16 Weather Thread

Was refering to the Madison area where cowgirl is located. No parameter you can really point at that looks favorable for severe weather in her area.

Iowa is a different story entirely.

    Re: 6/16 Weather Thread

Not supposed to be that bad for you this afternoon and evening the ingredients for severe weather all look pretty weak. Heavy rain looks to be more likely.

Certainly possible. I'll be a further downer by saying the team has been pretty fortunate with injuries the past few years with only Bubu missing significant time. Sort of due for an injury to a...
