  1. Re: If we could be the thorn in the side who would you rather be it to????

2002. That team wasn't really that good, but played some way better teams in the 2nd half. OU basically didn't care who Seneca Wallace was. ISU had like 60 yards of offense.
  2. Re: If we could be the thorn in the side who would you rather be it to????

AP got hurt in '06, Mac's last year. He basically ran circles around everyone and hurt himself going into the end zone.

'07 was the year ISU sort of competed for a while.

Re: Article on Scherff being ready for the NFL

It appears this player doesn't play for Iowa State or against Iowa State for the rest of the year.

This is an Iowa State site.

Iowa State plays Baylor in football in two weekends.

    Re: Beat Baylor

After ISU upset Nebraska, Osbourne just BURIED ISU.

Beating Baylor goes beyond a slowed down offense- need a disruptive d-line to throw off their timing.

    Good Cyclone Success Stories

Was just thinking the other night how, while this season still may not be great, there's still generally a high level of excitement around the football program, and certainly for bball. Then I...

Baylor will show ISU if they have team speed.

Re: Is beating Iowa really all that fun anymore?

....it's not as exciting when both teams are marginal. That's been the case for a few years now.

I'd like to see a complete product of the season- I thin that would be more fun.

....was it the first game he'd seen at Kinnick?

    That's seriously incredible.

    Re: "I Was Wrong" Thread

Yesterday was the first game I've been able to watch. Was nice to see a win and some resiliency.

The offense may have diversity and the defense was flying around a bit.

    They must've improved...

Re: ***Official Iowa State @ Iowa Gameday Thread***

    ...just tuning in.

So far it's about what I figured--Iowa controlling things up front, and ISU not being able to physically counter that.

Re: Thomas & Nader to miss 2 games

I'm OK with that. Expectations are as high as I can remember, and a good test early only helps.

A little need for resiliency never hurt a team.

Re: Hogue gets a nice mention

I really liked Hogue throughout the year, but really bought into him on that in bounds play in the Big 12 Championship where CFH sent him to guard the the pass-receiver, to force what I think was...

    Re: ISU vs Iowa prediction..

2-0 either team, and not because it's well played.

They blow our minds by making the game even more uneventful than last year.

    Re: Accenuate the Positives.....

    .....that already happened. In 1998.

Really need consistent improvement and something like 5 wins for me to think the FB program is in the right place, personally.
  15. Re: If you want CPR gone, who do you want to be hired to replace him?

Lane Kiffin's won some games, but usually comes off as smug and has done quite a bit of backpedaling on his own stupid words.

I'd at least like a character guy who cares about what they're doing.

Re: What is wrong with our defense?

... .28 points in a lot of college football games these days doesn't cut it. Neither does just passing 300 yards of TO.

The D is like a lot of ISU D's: the effort's there...just not the talent.

Re: "That game reminded me of..."

...reminds me of when they don't have the talent or fundamentals to make that kind of a stop.

Those things pay off in situations like that.

Same for the offense: they're not built to be...
  18. Re: If you want CPR gone, who do you want to be hired to replace him?

This thread has already bottomed out.

I honestly don't think there's any coaches in the country who are competent and who would be committed to Ames.

    Re: BEAT IOWA

Don't know much about IA but if they look like this next week, the game has all the makings of the 1999 matchup, when two bad teams played until the game finally ended.

    Similar to 2012 I...

Irving and Coe are on the team if they can figure it out.

    They didn't.
