    Re: BLUM: Rhoad dogs

I was wondering about this stat. The last couple years it really felt like ISU would go either 3 and out or score, and really nothing in between. Seeing it that low is encouraging that it will pay...

    Re: How to beat Baylor

Haven't seen them play yet this year, but in recent years with RG3, or Florence, the key was to actually stop their run game, and you HAVE to stay honest defensively. Baylor is a highlite machine...

    Re: "I Was Wrong" Thread

I felt they had NO shot with KSU whatsoever. After seeing the massive improvement there, then I felt ISU had about a 50/50 shot at the win yesterday. Iowa really hadn't looked impressive, so I knew...

Re: Is beating Iowa really all that fun anymore?

I totally agree. But it's just sinking way down the ladder in my book of a big win these days.

I do think next year will be a big game for ISU against Iowa with a lot returning and regardless of...

Re: Is beating Iowa really all that fun anymore?

Perhaps the move to Omaha and being away from all the whiny excuse filled Hawkeye homers has changed me a bit.

Is beating Iowa really all that fun anymore?

Here's the problem with Ferentz for instance...and this is no secret either.

Butcher of late game clock situations. Captain conservative. Refuses to use any sort of D-line rotation...still...

Re: Your pick for the best Player that never was

Scales had multiple knee injuries that probably put the hammer on his career. Although at the college level I don"t remember him having much in the speed department.

Re: Your pick for the best Player that never was

Chris Brown was a safety(?) that was in on breaking Petersens collar bone. JJ bass would have seen the field a lot more, but had some problems in the locker room which had in an eternal dog house.
  9. Re: What will our first three plays from scrimmage be?

    Jarvis West jet sweep right
    Jarvis West jet sweep left
Jarvis West pitch on reverse from tailback and touchdown pass to Lazard

Speaking of lazard, what is his yards per catch right now? 25/30...

Re: Ferentz vs CPR...what do you think?

I always took the signing day snarkiness as a shot at the media as well. The story they seemingly wanted to write was how Lazard would end up somewhere else.

Re: Friday OT: Favorite NES 8-bit Games

10 yard fight was indeed one of the earliest NES football games, but that thing is an abomination compared to Tecmo Bowl. Not even in the same league.

Re: Iowa State walks out with a win IF...

I think if Iowa has a bad day running the ball, then ISU gets the W.

On the flip side, if the Cyclones running backs combine for 200 yards receiving like the UNI kid, then ISU wins as well.

    I...
  13. Re: We will learn a lot about the Big 12 this week

I think the OP completely forgot about the KSU/FSU game. Anyone who watched that came away very impressed by OSU....except for homer FSU fans.
  14. NFL: Re: Steelers return man...uh...karate kicks Browns punter during return..

I'm sure the broadcast team was "outraged" by this, but I wouldn't have been able to keep it together and not crack up. I could see Aikman and Buck having a tirade about this type of behavior on the...
  15. NFL: Re: Steelers return man...uh...karate kicks Browns punter during return..

That play pretty much sums of the history of those 2 NFL franchises.
  16. NFL: Re: Steelers return man...uh...karate kicks Browns punter during return..

Seriously, still laughing here! OMG. I could watch this thing for hours.
  17. NFL: Steelers return man...uh...karate kicks Browns punter during return..

This is the most hilarious thing EVER! And it did result in a 15 yard penalty. That might be the best personal foul of all time. I'm freaking rolling here...

    Re: A couple follow-up comments ...

    /\
Don't forget AROB had nearly 50 1st qtr yards on like 5 to 7 carries in 2009. He was killing them, then went out with the groin injury. Big slow Schwartz filled in and ISU lost their advantage...

Re: Big 12 official comment on Lockett's catch ...

That's on the refs which we can't control...but had Lazard's dumb *** brother kept his trap shut on the sideline, KSU wouldn't have been given a free 15 yards on that drive. Might have changed...

Re: Better, but where are the take-a-ways?

KSU and NDSU are the type of teams that probably wouldn't turn it over much even if they were facing the 85 Bears. That's why those teams are so successful. When ISU plays WVU, Tech, etc, they'll...
