    Re: Recruit Lists v2.0

Want to know how coaches get players to committ? Telling guys like Juwan Morgan http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Juwan-Morgan-139571 that you will make him a lottery pick....

Re: Thomas & Nader to miss 2 games

It's not a question of being 'scared' of Georgia St, its just an acknowledgement that they're one of the 3 or 4 most talented teams we face in the NC schedule, where we'll likely lose 1 or 2 games. ...

Re: Thomas & Nader to miss 2 games

That's still a good starting lineup, but that bench is thiiiiiin on experience.

Still think Georgia St. is as likely a loss as any in the non-conference. Bet all starters play 35 min in that one.

Re: New Schedule - Season Prediction Time!!!

Do you really believe losing to undefeated regular season and #1 tourney seed Wichita St. and losing to UNI is comparable? If UNI goes undefeated this year we better be scheduling them next year.

    Re: Hoiberg's 2014-15 Prospectus

I never saw it that way. Niang and Kane were the mismatches as I saw it. Ejim got his from making open 3's, moving very well without the ball, and working so hard around the rim, not so much due to...

    Re: X Factor?

Another vote for BDJ. Senior transfer with unquestioned skills and ability but past questions regarding maturity, shot selection, and attitude?

Plus, Kane's absence is the biggest void to fill. ...

Re: New foreign commit - Giorgos Tsalmpouris

I knew some kids who worked at Hometeam and would put pubes in the dough. This was in the mid-late 1990's for reference.

Re: BDJ #13 Top Newcomer Overall (ESPN Insider)

I agree with all the posters saying 5th year transfers are awesome. Remember, however, that every NCAA champion except one has had McD AA's on the roster (IIRC). That's not an artifact. Players...

Re: Georgia State game on national TV

I got 4 basketball games for $10 in November last year which I was quite happy with. I'm sure I'd subscribe to cyclones.tv for Nov and/or December for 3 games per month. If 2 games, I'll probably...

    Re: Recruit Lists v2.0

I've thought Michigan St for a long time and I'm going to stick with it. Just always thought he looked like an MSU guy. Surprised Wisconsin's cut, though; the Kaminsky spot seems like a decent spot...
  12. Re: Wooo Pig Sooie! Looking forward to visiting Ames on Dec 4!

Kane was a big reason ISU was good vs. press (though of course we still have Morris and Niang); without him I don't know how we'll be in that regard. Namely I have no idea how good a ball handler...

I bet we lose 1 non-con game, either Georgia St. or Iowa.

    Re: Potential Transfers '14

Also, I bet immediately eligible guys would be more likely to sign with a UK type program in the spring than guys that have to sit a year. Graduate transfers know the team they are walking into...

    Re: Potential Transfers '14

This is a phenomenally stupid argument. But I also have long been of the opinion that as accepting transfers becomes more and more mainstream, the recruiting of transfers will get more difficult. ...

Is the argument here really that Iowa State is in an uphill battle if competing with UK and KU for recruits? Newsflash!

Re: Becoming a Blue Blood - Article

With the exception of UCLA's complete and historic dominance of CBB in the 1960's and 70's, little of what happened prior to about 1980 (or more specifically, the 1979 Bird-Magic matchup) has any...

    Re: Niang transformation

So when was the 'before' picture taken? Curious if it was last year or freshman year.

Niang would have to have a pretty dominant season to go NBA after this year. Not only dominant, but showcase...

No closet for me. I would love to have ISU/Iowa get to be like Michigan/MSU or UNC/Duke. With ISU the clear top team, of course.
  20. Re: More on Giorgios Tsalmpouris - Abdelmassih talks Greece trip

I was watching an Iowa game with my father in law and saying how they needed to play Woodbury less and Olaseni more. Woodbury promptly got the ball in the post, did a spin move, and shot a layup...
