Re: Is it fair that ISU is on this list?

Hmm, I thought it was always hosted in Pasadena. Do you think we would have a shot to host it when we finish the SEZ?

    Re: Jobs.

What area are you in? In my district, which I would say is in the top 10% in Iowa, a teacher with a PHD would top out at 75k. By no means am I saying it's a terrible profession to get into in any...

    Re: Jobs.

I know a handful of 3A schools in the area are 5-6k for head coaches. Football/Basketball will usually be a little more in most places but I know at least 2 head 3A bball coaches around here that are...

    Re: Jobs.

Would have to be one heck of a summer job to get you close to 100k. Most districts are going to top out around 60k or maybe a little more with a Master's, and for coaching you're looking at around 5k...

Re: NDSU BISON @ Iowa State University Cyclones

Yeah he must have been really good if he managed to get 40 total snaps in during a season that your average margin of victory was 4 TD's!
  7. Re: Thomas Pollard runs an Iowa All Time Best 3200 at State Track

You guys aren't getting it. He already was kicking it in the last 19 meters. If they added 19 MORE meters to the race it's not like he's going to kick an extra 19 meters over what he already was...

    Re: Sleeping issues

Haha sorry should have clarified...I didn't mean those particular guys, in general I just hate the idea of my daughter dating ANY MS or HS boy some day after seeing enough classes come through.

    Re: Sleeping issues

That sounds like a solid plan except it would require me allowing my daughter to date...I've taught and coached enough MS and HS boys that I'm not wild about the idea of my 4 year old growing up to...

    Re: Concrete slab cracking

I know he asked if we were going to drive on it and said since we weren't we wouldn't need metal rod put in. I'm going to ask him about the mesh.

    Re: Concrete slab cracking

Would mesh be something that would be put in as they are pouring or would it have to be done before the truck gets there? It was just the sub-base in the morning before I left, but not being there...

    Re: Concrete slab cracking

It was a pretty solid sub-base (about 12" and they spent a day leveling, a day packing down the rock sub-base, and a day on the concrete. I didn't get a mix design, and since it is in the backyard...

    Re: Concrete slab cracking

Those are kind of my thoughts too...I would just like to have it looking nice as we're shelling out several thousand for the court. I realize taking it out and re-pouring would cause him to lose a...

    Re: Concrete slab cracking

They sawed it before the cracks, but in talking to them and a couple of other contractors it sounds like they probably waited too long and that it was already cracking there when they cut it.

Cement Truck came at 9:00 Friday morning and they poured, came back Saturday late morning (after 10 and before 2) and cut it. Attaching a picture of the cracks tonight 26230

Yeah, I think the problem was that they waited too long to cut it.

    Concrete slab cracking

I just had a concrete slab poured last week for a basketball court. Today after the freeze there are long cracks across the surface of it. They are basically flat lines right now and aren't wide at...
