    Re: Quiet before the Storm

You must be referring to the Iowa State-Texas game last year. We dominated in total yards, TOP, lost the turnover battle, and were penalized almost twice as many yards and still won (well to anyone...

    Re: Quiet before the Storm

So says Hawkeye fans when explaining why their team has a losing record the last 15 years to evidently... more talented Iowa State teams.

Which positions on the NDSU squad would be considered better athletes than their ISU counterparts?

    Re: Quiet before the Storm

We have better players at every position, or at least 20/22, so this game comes down to coaching.

The big 'wait and see' is with the game plan-- have the coaches drawn one up that gives our guys...

Re: Randy Peterson's open letter to Rohach

Several odd comments, but why did he feel the need to include the 'respectful to reporters' line?

    What row are they?
  7. Re: Defensive Line Lack of depth (apparent by the departure list alone)

Yes, it's been awhile, but the Stensrud boys would not agree with...."ever".

Re: Blum Preview Column: The season of wait & see

I'm sure you meant 132 yards for UNI in the first half. Didn't realize it was a 12 yard average. Wow that was tough to watch.
  9. Re: Thanks Las Vegas for helping me profit on our win against NDSU

Yup. The difference in this game will be the fact that their staff got worse, and our staff got better in the off season.

    Re: Run / Pass Ratio

The article referenced Mangino's eight year run/pass average at UK. Anyone know what the percentage was the year he took them to the Orange Bowl?

As much as we would like to see this happen, you're on the wrong board.

    Re: #1 Concern

It's early, but I was surprised and concerned to hear our offense did not score a TD on the defense. May just be how they were working the scrimmage.

    Coach 'em up Mark.

Re: New foreign commit - Giorgos Tsalmpouris

I felt sorry for the kid. If this was his first exposure to the local press, he had to wonder why was he getting peppered by Peterson with such odd questions.

Re: CBS Sports Article on Mark Mangino's Comeback

If we win a few more 44-41 games this year, I'm fine with that.

Re: Column: Don't sleep on Sam

Heard a little different story from his Mom before the UNI game. She said Grant did hurt his hand in camp and didn't know how long into the season it would be before he could throw with no issues.

Re: Column: Don't sleep on Sam

A running QB brings so much to the college game. If Sam and Grant's throwing accuracy is anywhere close, I'd like to see Sam in there.

But with Mangino on the staff we have a guy who knows what it...

Re: "A Century of Cyclone Football"

In my 40 years of watching ISU football, this was the best Cyclone team that we have fielded. They truely could play with any team in the country. We had the coaching and the talent. I'm sure...

Poll: Re: What is everyone expecting? (in the long run)

If we have the right assistant coaches, the expectation should be no less than .500.

    Re: NDSU favored by 2

Agree that being a dog to NDSU should motivate the team. I'm more concerned with the coaches getting the team ready than anything else.

Re: Des Moines bids to host Mens NCAA tourney games

I could see KU, ISU, and Wisky, maybe OSU, but the other schools are unlikely.
