    Re: JTS construction webcam?

IMO JCC is important to the AD as it gets kids in to experience cyclone FB at a young age, I think they will work it out so that parents and children will still be able to go without much of a ticket...

    Re: RIP, Veishea

He promoted Wickert from Engineering Dean to Vice President and Provost and brought in a top figure in the University of North Carolina system (where Leath was previously Vice president for Research)...

    Re: RIP, Veishea

Leath did shake things up quite a bit when he came in with employees, although some of it was promoting from within too. Also, don't take my defense of Leath on the VEISHEA decision as saying that...

Re: The South Endzone Project has started!!!

Wonder what the hold up is on the webcam, usually they have one up before the project has even started.

    Re: Leath

Some of this may be true, but campustown redevelopment has been a goal of the University and city for some time now (well before Leath). Therefore I think the density would have increased regardless...

    Re: RIP, Veishea

A football game isn't meant to be celebration of the University and its achievements. Having these kinds of problems at a celebration like VEISHEA is a major black eye for the University.

There is a good bit more that isn't on here: People falling from buildings and being severly injured or dying and murder as well for starters.

    Re: RIP, Veishea

VEISHEA is over, might as well let it go. Embrace the new traditions/celebrations that arise (hopefully with a new slate and don't become synonymous with drinking copious amounts of alcohol and...

Good idea, this will be successful.
  14. Re: 2014 Businesses closing stores or shutting down in Iowa

Interesting well that makes sense then, my guesses for their reasoning are probably/may still be valid though.
  15. Re: 2014 Businesses closing stores or shutting down in Iowa

Nope, my guess is the land is cheaper than in Ames (and they can get a larger area of land) and they figure they can keep their Boone customers while getting a little closer to Ames (I see their...
  16. Re: 2014 Businesses closing stores or shutting down in Iowa

The bank is moving to the location of the West Ames Wendy's that closed earlier this year.
  17. Re: 2014 Businesses closing stores or shutting down in Iowa

Yea, If they want to be closer to Ames they might as well just move here.
  18. Re: 2014 Businesses closing stores or shutting down in Iowa

Furniture store possibly? Thats something that Ames doesn't have at the moment and would be nice to have.
  19. Re: Release: SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR SOUTH END ZONE PROJECT RELEASED

Yea, I think the $2.3 mill is pretty much just the cost of the board, everything else is in the bids going out for the south end zone project.
  20. Re: Release: SCHEMATIC DESIGNS FOR SOUTH END ZONE PROJECT RELEASED

Good, it means they awarded the bid for lower than their estimate.
