  1. Re: Blum Preview Column: The season of wait & see

Hard to say unless we knew how the second half went. The first half numbers look to be very Jekyl (Iowa, Tulsa, TTech, TCU, OU) and Hyde (UNI, KState, KU and WVU). Are the second half numbers the...

    Re: Big 12/Big Monday Schedule

It is just one more obstacle to account for. I am specifically talking about going on the road for a Monday game. The home team has a huge advantage in those situations. Since we are on the road...

    Re: Big 12/Big Monday Schedule

I just knew they would screw us with the trip to KU. I am sure we will be somewhere in Texas that Saturday just to make it that much harder.

I just wish we could have had our big games when the...
  4. Poll: Re: What is everyone expecting? (in the long run)

The money is good for everyone. Any increase for us is an increase for all. So our gap with Power-5 teams really doesn't shink. Now, I agree that it helps us versus non Power-5 teams.

Re: Tony Stewart may have hit/ran over someone

Did you see the video? There was a car in front of Tony, possibly blocking his view. Perhaps he didn't see the guy dressed in all black until too late. Perhaps he drifted up the track, saw the guy...

Re: Tony Stewart may have hit/ran over someone

Stewart needs to be banned from all racing for the rest of this season and all of next season.

The kid is definitely at fault at this for getting in the way. But when under yellow, there's no way...
  7. Re: Hope for the D..rewatched the '13 Texas game..gave me much reason for optimism in

I can't see the D being any worse than last year. Only God knows how we were in so many close games last year. If Mangino can help us up our scoring a bit, I think we we can salvage a decent...
  8. Re: Any guesses as to how the new "power 5" conference rules will impact ISU?

I agree. While we aren't is as good of a position as the top programs, we are in better shape than the non Power-5. Imagine if we could cherry-pick some recruits from Rice, SMU, UCF, and South FL.
  9. Re: O'Bannon Decision-NCAA can't limit share revenue with athletes

It will be interesting to see where this ends up in 5 years. I can see how this might widen a gap between the Power 5 teams but also between the Power 5 and everyone else. Should give is a leg up on...

Re: Friday OT #2 - Tattoos

It does potentially impact that person's reception by customers, clients, etc. Rightly or wrongly, how many people do you think will want to get a mortgage from this guy?

Re: Friday OT #2 - Tattoos

Have one on my chest and it is special to me so not against them. However, I don't understand when people get them in visible places (face, neck, arms, hands, etc) and then worked up when (1) they...
  13. Re: NCAA gives more autonomy to power 5 conferences

While I don't particularly like it, I do think it has the potential to help us. We could get a real advantage over the non-Power 5 teams with which we compete for recruits. Not sure how much extra...

Re: Big XII leading the way

This is a scenario that kansas probably likes. And one that Rutgers hates. There will be some who benefit and others who don't. But I don't know that it will hurt is too much. (Although a lot of...

Re: Big XII leading the way

We will still offer playing time. In that case, the pitch is still the same... You can go to (insert blue blood), get a little more money now and ride the pine. Or you could come here, get on the...

Re: Big XII leading the way

I guess when I think of CFB's top program in terms of recruiting and production, I think of Bama. Not sure there is a program that has out-performed them in terms of blue-chip recruits and winning...

Re: Big XII leading the way

Not saying it will help. But don't think it will hurt football too bad. I see it as more status quo. Now non-revenue sports is a different discussion. UT, Bama, OSU, USC only have so many spots...

Re: Big XII leading the way

But someone still has to buy those jerseys. I highly doubt that even a school like UT would be able to get every 5* recruit in the nation with enough jersey sales to entice them. People won't buy...

I really don't see how anything you posted above is much different than what is happening now. You are already saying that some schools are buying talent so we are already being out-bid. Even if it...
